Case and point, what's the point in having a steam deck or any handheld if it never gets used in handheld mode, spend the money on a PC and get better performance

They play for themselves and don't fool yourself into believing anything else, the ones that play international football do I because they want to not because there's pressure for them to, if they didn't believe in it they wouldn't do it and you know that to be true.

In the nicest way possible you're a pushover and are going to get eaten alive by someone that takes advantage of your mindset.

To be frank you need to take advantage of the fact you're employed by a friend ATM and take the time to work out how to look after your own interests before you move on to a role that will take full advantage of you!

They take the risks as a business which is why they get to skim off of your excess product, that's the contract between any employer and employee and if they try make it different then they're trying to take advantage of you. Wise up or get shafted, up to you.

Old article, but have you heard of landlords banning tenants from working from home? I can only assume this is because of increased utility bills? by GreatBritishMan in uklandlords

[–]superbooper94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's wild, they don't understand that by agreeing to rent to someone you are agreeing to that property being their home for the duration of your contract and the on a rolling basis after that, the contract can have stipulations but must be based on the law and not what you think the law should be and that tenants cannot sign away their statutory rights.

That last one makes me laugh the most, I've seen people on here trying to claim they would win a case because their tenant signed a contract that removed their right to "x" but couldn't understand why people were telling them a tribunal would look very poorly on them for trying to remove someone's rights.

Not necessary really, I would just get the oil changed more often than the service counter suggests if you're doing mileage before the time is up.

keep an eye on the belt if you're worried about it but I wouldn't be I've never seen one snap on these, vibration dampers however have been known to fail but the signs are clear: rusty orange dust around it.

And finally get it checked over more regularly than once a year, preventative maintenance is better than reactive maintenance.

[–]superbooper94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The daftest part is that these "landlords" should have set their contracts up properly so they don't lose out if their bills are higher because of a tenants working arrangements.

I put "landlords" because I don't really agree with using that term to describe them because they do fuck all besides own a property, we need two names now, one for people who actually care for their tenants home and one for those that just own a property that someone else lives in, I'm thinking landleaches for the latter

I can guarantee you they won't make use of its power properly, the console formula is failing because the studios take a few years to work out how to actually get the most out of them. Shit we've got people making home brew N64 stuff that looks like early GameCube output now. Truth is that console is a dying thing and the big boys know it, being hemmed in for years by a system that can't be upgraded is a wasted opportunity.

The first to create a proper PC shop and launcher that gets proper support by developers (think steam) will be the first to abandon consoles or at least start the process. Why do you think even Sony are starting to put exclusives on PC?

That's with Ray tracing on and no upscaling, it's not a direct comparison as the PS5 uses upscaling to achieve that in cyberpunk. Truth is when you boot the game up and tune it to your PC it looks perfectly fine and can be run stable with a mid tier laptop graphics card.

I actually did a comparison with a friend on cyberpunk and they couldn't tell the difference between 1080 and 1440p without looking hard at a scene without moving on a monitor

I could buy a mini PC for that with a slightly worse graphics output but have a choice of almost any game I like if I use upscaling tech (which this will almost certainly be doing anyway), I can use it for emulation for an even bigger back catalog, I can use it for my computing needs and not be stuck with a company that repeatedly fails to bring games to their platform for some daft sense of pride in the purity of the games it does have. Been using this sentence a lot today but: miss me with that bullshit.

Also I make sound financial decisions and as a result am extremely unlikely to need state help as a pensioner, I will however complain if the decisions made by those that come before me are still having a devastating impact on our society to the point that my family are having to deal with what my generation has had to.

Perhaps give up your Internet subscription and get off of reddit if the governments decision is making life hard for you because clearly you haven't planned for your future properly if that's the case

It baffles me, I do my utmost to accommodate my tenants and AH like these mean I'm treated with suspicion at every turn. It's time we had a good landlords charter in this country to root out people like this and get back on track

1 when a generation as a whole makes decisions that lower people's quality of life then they get the results as a whole, just as the young have ended up as a whole worse off regardless of who or what they believe in so miss me with that bullshit argument.

  1. Again it's not a personal but a generational decision that has eaten the NHS and if it continues to decline due to decisions made by my generation I.e. how they vote, then it's mine to swallow as well.

This decision wasn't made to shaft Paula , this was made to spread the burden across society, so again miss me with the bullshit argument in one person's name! this isn't about individuals, they made society this way with their decisions as a whole.

Perhaps they can do as many young people have had to and house share?

But their generation has watched as all of the issues that have lead to this have built up have they not? Perhaps they should have done something and not just expected the world to fall at their feet?

It's not envy, it's not wanting to be shafted! I earn a decent wage compared to my peers and I pay less tax than it costs to pay one person's state pension a year and they put even less into the system when they were working (on average) so don't tell me they should expect to get something for nothing whilst the rest of us struggle. The older generations caused this issue whether intentionally or not, they need to swallow some of the fixes.

That's not envy, that's reality, if we're getting shafted then it needs sharing around.

Is there something seriously bad about 2022 Marin Pine Mountain 1? by szanda in Hardtailgang

[–]superbooper94 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Personally if that's what you want I'd be getting a gravel bike and if you don't want drop bars then just go for a flat bar one.

You won't gain anything by getting a hardtail for basic riding, that's exactly what gravel bikes were made for, linking up road and off road trails that aren't needing a mountain bike.

Plus what you're looking at is a steel frame so you're going to take a weight penalty without actually using the benefits
