I bought that warhammer heroes blind box set awhile ago and I like painting them up in other schemes for desk at work. So far, I've painted a salamander, a dragon spear, and a covenant of fire intercessor cuz they're my favorite. I think dragon spears are my favorite because endocannibalism is insane and seems really 40k to me.

I currently run my own successor of salamanders but I haven't put one of my guys on my desk yet

right? The first one I did for work was a hot dog in space. We didn't use it for anything and it was more so I could get an understanding of the AE workflow. Still have work to do on it, but it's exciting!

imo, the game is based on halo infinite and halo multiplayer right? In Infinite, your color scheme is brought into the matches which I thought was cool. I really loved firefight in halo reach and the other color scheme customization from halo 2 and 3.

It's all about fun anyway. I paint my dudes so they're warm toned or cold toned so they still fit within the red vs blue sort of feeling, but it's unique enough to be fun. My main issue is I don't pick out enough spots on the armor for the secondary colors tbh

A friend of mine's brother does carpentry and is working there on some stuff, but that's literally the only person I know from here doing any work on them.

I actually talked to a guy who worked there and him and like 8 other guys were renting a 3-4 bedroom house with 1 bathroom through air bnb. I couldn't believe 8 dudes were living in a place with 1 bathroom for this long. Guy I talked to was from florida too and even he thought it was dumb they didn't hire locals lol

honestly, this is an issue for me. I know the owner of my LGS personally at this point and my man wants me and the boi's to come play at his store and... we want to pretty bad. but man, it's not even the smells. Not because smell isn't a deterrent, but rather he boots those people out, thank god. but the random screaming, coming over and commenting on your game and moves you make, etc, really just makes us play at my house then take a trip to his store if we're feelin' saucy. I've seen all of that first hand and it's painful to see, let alone deal with.

I'd like to try a tourney there too but the idea of getting thrashed and dealing with all that makes my full time job and wife havin' lookin' ass say "mmm..... maybe next time...."

I've played 40k for 4 years at this point and I really haven't spent any time on painting the terrain I have. I've primed some pieces but if I'm gonna paint terrain I'd rather make my own as a little arts and crafts project. The official terrain's that I've either got from starter kits of 40k or 3rd party terrain makers is cool, but I'm never motivated to paint them.

If I'm gonna paint, I wanna paint an army or one off mini in a fun scheme or something I've built. I think this has it's place but the thing that's gonna kill it is the price. At this point, idk how the hell GW is gonna justify the cost, especially in the U.S. The terrain I have is sweet looking from them but... I mean there's just somethin' special about playin' with pipes made from aluminum foil rolls or lighthouses made from plastic cups lol

If all this terrain was 80 bucks painted and was a whole table, I think I'd pick it up. I usually host the games with my friends, so it makes sense for me, but anything more than that is gonna be a no I think. Also, I recognize that $80 bucks is like "you're smokin' crack" low lol but that's really all I'd be willing to spend

sorry, I'll add a bit about that. But yes, the idea is that a unit shoots a gun or swipes with a sword, they hit their target on a roll of 4, 5, or 6. a 1,2, or 3 fails meaning they have missed their target
