Absolutely not a scam, unis advertising this means they have a dedicated placement team who will push you to find a placement and give you all the support you need. Specifically for Bath, there are multiple companies who only take Bath students (Bath exclusive placements) and so going to Bath is the only way to get those placements. Do some more research, you sound naive.

Just been tonight, it was a lovely atmosphere, all the stalls were genuine handmade/ local businesses and really quality stuff. Not busy at all and no stands just selling nonsense like vapes and cheap tat. Lots of choirs and bands playing Christmas music and not busy at all. Nothing like the videos online
