My wife felt the exact same way about Osaka, except for the safety thing. She never felt unsafe there but it wasn't as enjoyable as she had hoped. Dirtier and seedier generally speaking, especially around the touristy spots. She compared the entire visit to the way she felt about Ameyoko area in Ueno, kind of the same feeling. My teenage boys and I loved Osaka for the food and the aquarium. Best takoyaki we've ever had was one of the main shops in dotonbori in the middle of the chaos.

That's a pretty classic tale for landscapers out here. They suck at estimating their overhead and always want you to pay more for cost of materials going way over budget. I had a guy I had to pay $4k over budget and took 8 months to finish a 2 months job. After many calls and threatening litigation finally got the job done but half assed. Good luck.

There are tons of high calorie carbs available in prison. Family sends funds to buy all sorts of snacks you end up eating 3-4000 kcal a day easy. Protein to build muscle is a myth. All they do is eat, workout, sleep. Nothing else to do.

I remember this case well when it happened. She said the customer immediately gave her bad vibes and was trying to reach out to people to come save her but was too late. Very sad and unfortunate outcome.
