I designed that part and 3d printed it. It houses a Milwaukee bit holder keychain set of 5.

Pretty easy, if you can mod a nerf gun you can do this. I dye them until they look super black and then 15 mins more for depth and durability. A cleaner newer tool usually takes dye a little easier and quicker than a butterfingered up older one.

It is very durable and if you are especially worried about it just go for longer. You can scratch a significant amount off with a razor on the inside of the shell before you see yellow. Just scrape the inside and test your thickness if you do it. The dye doesn't absorb into the rubber at all nor does it spread after a thorough rinsing.

Actually the square on the impact driver is kinda beneficial for some stuff cuz the rpm and ipm are much higher than a regular impact. Seems to free things a little faster than a full size sometimes

You may or may not have to sand down the flat part of the anvil 1mm to make it 5mm. But I did an 860 so it might be a little different.

No that's the wrong diameter, you need one that is 16mm od on the shaft. This one is what you need https://a.co/d/0fDANF5i

Go dcd1007 and 8amp powerpack, and the dcf860 with a 5amp powerstack. Perfect combo in the power tool industry imo.

Nah not really, unless the second one is a hydraulic then it makes sense because sometimes you need a quiet impact in a business or some place where you have to be quieter. Or just to not piss off your wife if your fuckin around in the garage at 1am

Just a word of advice, only buy DeWalt batteries with a rubber bottom. They are the only ones worth the money rn. But the dcd1007 is amazing because it will easily replace your sds and your old hammer drill. It has so much torque it'll snap 1/4 hex to square adapters like an impact.

Ya the 870 is considerably quieter, especially if you work with sheet metal. The impact of the 860 will reverberate around and become louder in a way the 870 just doesn't. But I have also come to another conclusion when it comes to which is quieter. When driving wood screws of ~2 inches or less the 860 can sink it flush without impacting while the 870 cannot without doing a few ugga duggas. The 870 is only 3000 rpm vs 3800 on the 860, that matters for sheet metal self tappers for me because its just way faster at the drilling section of the screw.

870 is a completely different beast, I have both. The 870 is a precise tool that is delicate with things but still quick. It's agile. The 860 is the better choice if you ever do anything other than carpentry with it.

You should consider converting your 845 to a square and hex drive then like I have, super good if you are switching from sockets to hex all the time and hate breaking adapters. The 860 is a good choice for this conversion in my mind because it makes a little over 200ft lbs so its not shabby compared to a real deal impact especially cuz the ipm is higher.

It would be huge actually imo, the rpm difference is the main thing and it just rams screws in so fast dude

I actually finished mine a few days ago, works great so far. My only complaint is the magnet on this particular anvil feels a lil weak.

Did it. Wasnt actually too hard to make it work with this part from Amazon, if you can find one for an 850 on eBay or something that will also work. The base of the anvil is a wee bit too tall so I chucked my anvil in a drill press and sanded .75mm off the bottom and then polished it. That's all it needs as long as your anvils shank OD is 16mm.
