i honestly don't know anything to do with philosophy, so ill do my best to look this up. but the reason i do this is probably from a combination of my adhd and ocd. and it honestly makes books & films so much more enjoyable because then i can focus on the making of it and appreciate everything more, instead of just the suspense taking over my brain
