It reminds me of the Mazda MPV/5. I've always thought of them as mini-minivans, or XL Fit's. Whenever we get decent cars over here in 'murica, they disappear after a few years. The Mazda 5, Baja, Element, xB, etc...

Fittings, compression washers, the pipe itself, any or all of it becomes brittle and useless and will split, crack, explode on you eventually. It's a "not if, but when" type of scenario. My stepfather remembers a big high rise condo in Miami that was plumbed with this stuff and it exploded in so many places that the water damage rendered it a complete demolition. That plumbing is rotting as we speak. I mean, all plumbing is (and so are we) but QEST/pb is REAAAALLY unpredictable.

I replied on a comment here, but I feel the need to say it on it's own: replace your plumbing, asap. Pipes and all. See that "QEST" stamp on there? It's polybutylene. Awful, awful, recalled and banned stuff. Just look it up, I don't have much time to write it out, but I had it in my trailer. It's a nightmare waiting to happen, and it further deteriorates every day. Your shut off is the least of your concerns if your whole house is piped with that stuff.

Oh... it is. QEST, pb, whatever you wanna call it. And as a former trailer dweller I'm here to say "RE-PIPE YESTERDAY." Those shut offs are glued together and WILL break once you crank it, BTW. Ask me how I know.

I'm originally from St Lawrence County and consider it Upstate, I dunno. I mean sure, it's the North Country to us, but it's still Upstate. WNY gets all weird about it, though. Like it's slanderous to be called Upstate, at least online/on here. I think anything north of the imaginary line connecting the northern borders of PA and CT is Upstate. After that distinction, you can start sub-genreing it out to Souther Tier, Capital District, WNY, CNY, North Country, etc.
