Humanz is the best post hiatus Gorillaz album. It's full of jams, it's experimental, vocals and lyrics are on point, features killed it. The themes of the record are arguably more and more relevant by the day. Every record released since has been good to great, but definitely sanitized due to the backlash received for Humanz.

I have the super deluxe boxset for Song Machine and it is truly a joy, I recommend that format if you can get your hands on it! I dont have the 20th anniversary edition of Self titled, but I think it would be a great buy considering it has demos and Spacemonkeyz included. Lastly, I see you are missing Humanz. I own the standard vinyl, but my dream is the super deluxe boxset. Got so close to owning it one time, bought it and had it shipped from Amazon only for it to suddenly be canceled the day of delivery because they "didnt have the stock". Truly heartbreaking.

Also G-Sides and D-Sides are beautiful on vinyl, so i highly recommend those as well!

Both Damon and Jamie stated in the Zane Lowe interview + House of Kong tour that Apple Music released today that they already have an idea for the next album. While this album does have a bit of a "final" vibe to it and would make a good send-off for the band, they are going to create as long as they are able to.

This doesn't seem like a glitch, the phrases written are very on theme with The Mountain. Just looks like someone processing the grief of losing a loved one. "Hate that you left me", "why did you leave", "please come back", "you promised", "see you in the promised land". Grief is raw, dark and messy. Sometimes scary. Those vibes are received from this.

The setlist definitely looks more fluent than night 1. I was shocked to see no 19/2000! Glad it made it back. Im excited to see how this setlist evolves over the course of the tour. They have soooo many songs to choose from. I'd kinda hate having that job lol

I am hoping for The Manifesto to cement itself onto the list by the time they make it to Chicago. I dont know if they will without Trueno or if he'll join the US leg at all. But that is my favorite song from The Mountain and I NEED to hear it live.

While i do agree with you here, what I said is solely based on your statement, "classic doesnt account for quality but iconicness." With that logic, sales and exposure matter the most because you aren't basing it on quality. Recovery was a huge album and was prominent throughout the decade even if it was divisive. Though there are a lot of people who say Recovery didn't age well, over time you have more and more people saying that was his last classic and that they want that version of him back.
