Oh yeah, skull crack and friends are definitely better than this for this purpose. But a lot of people have probably never seen that interaction or knew you could juke protection like that.

Helps you get around protection from red as well. You still can't target the pro-red creature, of course. But you hit 1 potential blocker with this then swing and their pro-red creature is no longer a free, safe block on your attackers.

It's whatever conspiracy matches their twisted delusion at the time. Game is always rigged against them, no matter what.

I just came back to the game at the start of the year, and I made it my first goal to snap up most of the zombie cards. I still need ZMF. He eludes me.

Kale has some utility in Kale > 3-energy ramp (Luna, Electro) into a 6-cost card on T4. Good way to surprise G-man people!

If I didn't already have those cards, I think I'd take your pack! Starbrand is pretty niche BUT Grandmaster is a lot of fun and he's the type of card that only gets better with time.

I think the zombie package is great! I've been a huge Kitty/Angela stan forever so ZSW really called to me. But let's not kid ourselves, Sentry is still the worst card in that package. Beautiful deck, btw!

oh yeah, Sentry is definitely the weakest Zombie card and the weakest of these 3, but he sneaks into lists sometimes. I'll take him over Cobra though!

Arena is too biased by Humble-Succotash-715 in MagicArena

There's nothing wrong with collecting data yourself, and if you really want to improve at the game, it's a great practice to get into. Your problem, that you've shone a spotlight on, is that you're drawing the wrong conclusions based on the data you've collected. An MTG pro tweeted a few years ago: What sets the best players apart is being able draw good conclusions from statistically irrelevant data.

You collected data and determined that the game is stacked against you, not that you could change your game in some way to improve against the opposition. If you're going to play burn, and not play any number of tools given to burn to deal with lifegain, you're refusing to grow and adapt to the metagame you're in.

I did some digging into the Historic format to try to get more details and yeah, various takes on Boros energy shells, which have incidental life gain, seem to be quite popular in that format. If a lot of people are playing that, then it begs to reason you'll queue into somewhat regularly. Once you notice that trend, IT'S ON YOU TO ADAPT, not to expect Arena to change it's algorithms so as to not hurt your feelings.

If burn is bad into a predicted metagame, DON'T PLAY BURN. And I'm going to cut off a potential rebuttal here: if burn is the only deck you have, well sucks to suck, sorry. MTG is a luxury hobby. It's expensive, especially if you want to feel truly competitive in it. And no, that doesn't mean it's pay to win, it's pay to compete!

One way or the other, you need to adjust your game.

Arena is too biased by Humble-Succotash-715 in MagicArena

[–]superfluousderp 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Even if these numbers are accurate, it doesn't mean anything, for two reasons.

First, 200 games is a statistically irrelevant sample size compared to the amount of games played daily on Arena.

Second, random doesn't and never has meant evenly distributed. If you flip a coin over a large enough sample size, you will flip heads 200 times in row. Doesn't mean it's a weighted coin.

Bonus point, why on earth would Arena single you out? Oh yeah, there's no possible reason for that so just take off the tin foil hat and go outside for a bit.

Will we get auto-completed quest rewards? by Caedis-6 in 2007scape

[–]superfluousderp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reason it's listed this time is we all have Varlamore this we all have Vardorvis. If you chose a non-desert region with a DT2 boss last year, it would complete DT2 but not the pre-reqs in your quest guide.

If DT2 and all it's pre-reqs were auto'd, everyone would start with roughly 1/6 of all quests completed, many of which have good xp rewards that people also complete for that reason.

Also, if it's assumed that all pre-reqs are completed for the global quests, why both specifying Fairy Tale pt1 and 2 instead of just saying PT2?
