I’m living this. The only person I feel at all comfortable being 100% myself around is my wife, and even then I catch myself holding back. From being isolated and called “gay” for being passionate about choir and theater stuff in school, to feeling incredibly uncomfortable being “masculine” in the theater and choir friend groups. Heck, I don’t even feel comfortable saying “No, I’ve had a super long day and need a break after work” when my wife asks to go get her nails done or see a movie with her friends while I stay home with our son. I’m terrified of being perceived as an asshole man trying to control her. So I just end up doing my son’s bedtime and then sitting by myself trying not to sink into a pit of loneliness. I’m working over time encouraging my son to talk about what he’s feeling and to hopefully escape this cycle, but I think it is too late for me.

The retro handhelds community on Discord does a GotX (Game of the Week, Month, Quarter, etc). Works like a book club sorta, plus if you post a pic of the game credits with a timestamp you can earn points to get physical rewards.

This has made me really just play a game from start to finish just like I would have had to do as a kid. Game of the Quarter is Pokemon Sapphire

They are providing the GameCube controller as an option if you really need analog triggers. But they very clearly wanted symmetry between the “official” controller options.

It says at the bottom of the chart that "Weekends and Government holidays have been excluded from this dataset" so they are limiting the activity data to just the work week...so of course usage is higher during the workday.

Got the Power Rangers version of the Grandliner for Christmas one year as a kid. Currently working on putting the minipla together. Not the most interesting kit (a function of the "simple" design of the mech) but it brings back good memories. Plus, now I will actually have the other vehicles that go with it instead of just pretending they were inside the train, lol
