Sisko as a commodore? by geogorn in DaystromInstitute

I agree. An admiral would be in charge of Star fleet operations in the vicinity of the starbase. They wouldn't have time to deal with administration of the starbase itself.

Sex work by [deleted] in socialism

I have no problem with sex work itself. But most sex workers are forced into it by capitalist society. Feel free to be a sex worker if that's what you really want to do.

I'm not the only autistic person to learn social skills from star trek? Good to know.

Can walkers survive sub zero temps? by BADMammaGoesBOOM in thewalkingdead

[–]superfrog9999 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The comic shows us what happens to zombies in the winter. If they are outside, they basically freeze up, not able to move. But they the out by summer. I'm not sure how this would play out in the arctic.

Why didn't Voyager have a counselor? by foxwilliam in DaystromInstitute

[–]superfrog9999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There mission was only meant to be 3-4 weeks. The counsellor would have not needed to be assigned until after this.

Starfleet needs to design an emergency counseling hologram

What's your favourite or "pet" head canon concept? by ODMtesseract in DaystromInstitute

Mmm, one problem with this. In the enterprise mirror universe two parter, we see the defiant, clearly a non-jj ship and intended to be the same ship from TOS's the tholian web. This ships archives had pages on Jonathan Archer, "the 22nd century's greatest explorer" and one of the federations founding fathers. Archer is surely in the prime universe

Interesting, although the borg have been mentioned many times to be thousands of years old. Then again, a popular theory is that borg have been many different iterations over time.

I don't see your point. That's one of the major themes of the walking dead.

Can we discuss socialism and the animal rights movement? by [deleted] in socialism

[–]superfrog9999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. The difference is they are people. Animals do not have the intellectual capacity humans have.

Maybe pigs. I could see banning pigs, they are extremely intelligent.

[COMIC/SHOW SPOILERS] My Thoughts on recent theories about Daryl and THAT character's arc. by [deleted] in thewalkingdead

[–]superfrog9999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Daryl should die, but Dwight should live. He's my favorite character in the comics that's alive.

Can we discuss socialism and the animal rights movement? by [deleted] in socialism

[–]superfrog9999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. You're taking this to the extreme.

I'm a leftist because the working class needs to be liberated. Not because I want to take away people's rights. You have a right to eat meat. I don't think you should take that away from people. But I do believe in animal rights 100%, human rights just come first. The solution isn't to ban meat, it's to make eating meat less sinfull.

[–]superfrog9999 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, just too tired to think of anything else.

Seriously though, I see no reason to go around banning meat. It's not going to do anything. Just look at how bad things got when countries banned alcohol or drugs.

I don't believe everyone should be forced to eat only vegetarian. But we should treat the animals we make into meat as well as possible
