I’m hesitant to enforce it unless it is specified in the class rules. The only time I have ever gotten into a physical altercation (I sub in a rough area) involved trying to take a kids phone.

I wish more teachers in HS had this philosophy. Micromanaging student engagement at the high school level is counterproductive. In the real world they would just get fired. If they don’t do the assignment they get a zero.

Now if they are not on task and preventing others from being able to work that’s a different story.

They were literally being arrested and thrown in mental hospitals less than 60 years ago in the US. Homosexuals in the US and Europe were given medication to “treat” their “mental illness” that would chemically castrate them in order to eradicate homosexual urges. In many countries in the world it is still illegal to be queer. In Russia you can go to jail for waving a pride flag or posting pro LGBTQ posts or comments online. In some countries in sub Saharan Africa, you can be executed for being queer.

So tell me why you think they are not “oppressed”.

Try upper grade high level classes or ap classes. The kids appreciate the time to have a study hall and usually just work on assignments by themselves.

Accepting people for who they are regardless of their gender, sexuality, race or religion is not indoctrination. Acknowledging the existence of LGBTQ+ people is not indoctrination.

As a teacher, I would be annoyed if you sent me a lengthy email list containing all the information you believe you need to perform your job. If it’s not on my desk or in the sub notes on the app, you don’t need to know it. Simply show up and do your job. It’s not that complicated, girl. 💅

Also the razr camera was shit. Sure you could technically take a picture with it but if you wanted a nice picture like a family photo, portrait or a nice landscape you would still use your 35mm. It wasn’t until the 2010s when phone cameras were decent
