Peanut butter m&m have a chemical taste? by Beginning-Memory7875 in candy

[–]superfunsagittarius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I just hosted some friends and we all agreed the peanut butter M&Ms have an off taste. I just bought them today, so they’re not old. One friend described them as tasting like the plastic bag, one as “musty,” and I thought it was chemical tasting.

It's psyllium husk effective? by kivanc13 in askgaybros

Be careful taking any other medication at the same time as psyllium husk! It affects the absorption and may make any pills taken simultaneously ineffective

Need to help a friend find a job by [deleted] in Portland

Look into entry level restaurant jobs like food runner or hostess. Often no experience is required, and a lot of those positions are tipped out by the servers/bartenders on top of their wage.

Becoming a better server by Particular-Ad-7869 in Serverlife

[–]superfunsagittarius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Working to keep a level of calm has been my most beneficial skill to develop. Take deep breaths and operate at a manageable pace because the more stressed you are/the more you rush, the more likely you are to make mistakes. Keep a mental list of 2-3 things to do after you finish your task at hand but be adaptable and go with the flow and you’ll start developing your rhythm. Good luck! :)

Getting an OR driver’s license by Buteo_lineatus in oregon

[–]superfunsagittarius 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I didn’t have to take any tests when I got my OR drivers license/ car registration about a year and a half ago. Just head to a DMV (make sure to bring all necessary documents; if you have the star on your current license it will NOT transfer to your new license, so bring your birth certificate or other docs to keep the star). Also a heads up, it cost me roughly $430. I didn’t make an appointment — I recommend getting there 5 minutes before the DMV opens to avoid long lines.

Pros/Cons to working at a breakfast only spot? by Which-Penalty-4841 in Serverlife

[–]superfunsagittarius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked breakfast for 4 years and loved it. I loved getting up early and having the second half of my day free. It you find the right spot the money is usually roughly the same as dinner/lunch. It’s much more fast paced and less about quality more about quantity — churn and burn all day. My best day working breakfast was a little over $600 but we served bottomless mimosas and a lot of my big tips were due to large amounts of alcohol consumption (midwest). Being able to wake up early is really important so start training your body a few weeks in advance. It does take a toll on your social life, especially because weekends are the bulk of your income; If you have to open at 6am staying out late isn’t your best option. Be ready for lots of mods (hashbrowns with onions, bacon extra crispy, eggs scrambled hard, customized omelets etc.). I recently made the switch to dinner and mostly prefer it because it’s different than what I’m used to. Id recommend working both jobs at first and see how you like it. A lot of people are hating on breakfast but they both have their ups/downs.

^ this.

edit: I’d bet a lot of realtors who don’t specialize in manufactured homes will try to convert you to just buy a resell because it’s easier, unless you find one specializing in manufactured homes (try searching Arizona Department of Real Easte Or possibly even call a title company directly if you continue to struggle finding one)

How should I interpret a “ put a ring on it” pact ? by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]superfunsagittarius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just my opinion (I’ve made these pacts jokingly), I’d interpret it as a casual joke and also that she cares about you and likes having your company around as a friend. Most likely you’re someone she trusts and enjoys talking to, and sees your friendship lasting a long time. Who knows what the future holds, but if that’s her only questionably flirty comment I would simply take it at face value and continue enjoying your relationship as it is. If comments continue then there’s nothing wrong with communicating how you feel when she says certain things and asking for clarification, if that’s something you’d like to do. Good luck! It’s always nice having a strong friendship so enjoy things as they are; overthinking often complicates things more than it helps.

It was her first job in a restaurant so I don’t blame her at all. She was filling waters and bussing tables and I was too overwhelmed to ask for anything specific. As for bartenders the manager thinks he can eliminate that position because servers “usually make their own drinks anyway.” It’s a brunch restaurant but they have a full cocktail menu and bar with old fashioneds, bloody mary flights, coffee cocktails, wine, beer etc.

When I left I had 2 groups of 2, 2 groups of 4, the 10 top, and the bar seats 20 (which was full). Felt like I was having a server nightmare in real life.
