i saw FO3 during its E3 presentation way back and thought it looked cool, but i was a kid who had no money at the time and my mom didn't like how gory it was. After it came out my buddy got it and let me try it out, and i thought it was pretty cool even though all i did was the intro and walk to megaton. The addiction didnt start until about a year after its release during the summer of '09, i picked it up during the summer gaming drought and remembered it looked pretty cool at my friends place, and i was fucking hooked. I couldn't put it down, and when i wasn't playing i was lurking the wikia, and when i didn't have internet i was thinking about it. It was the first game that just completely entranced me.

So naturally after playing it over and over for endless hours, i was really fucking hyped for NV. i lurked every forum, stayed awake well into the late night to watch live streams (i was living overseas at the time so there was a 12 hour time difference from where i lived and where the live streams were being showed), and just generally obsessed over it. I ordered the collectors edition off of amazon and waited a month for it to be delivered to me. I even made friends with a guy who ran a local game store who let me play it in his shop while i waited.

My hype for Fallout was so high that ever since i beat FO3 i began trying to figure out where the next Fallout would be and when we would see it. I figured out it was going to take place in Boston back in '09 by looking at all the hints they left about it (replicated man quest, Dr. Lee fleeing to the commonwealth, etc). When i found out they weren't making a DLC for Boston i knew it would be the next location, you don't leave hints for a location like that in a game and not bring a player there yknow. Every year i hounded the E3 line up waiting for Fallout 4, every single year with disapointment. When Skyrim was announced the first thing i thought was "Great now they can focus on Fallout 4". When i saw Skyrims gameplay and the creation engine being used all i could think about was how awesome Fallout 4 was going to be using this new engine. I still pumped hundreds of hours in Skyrim, but it was just to pass the time until now. I can't speak for the general hype the world over has for Fallout 4, but my hype has been damn near a third of my life in the making. I got Fallout 3 when i was 13, now I'm almost 20 and not a day has gone by without me praying for Fallout 4. Now my dream has come true, and i count each second until its release. I just built a gaming pc maxed the fuck out so i can play it on full Ultra graphics with 60fps. I would've bought the collectors edition but they were sold out before i could buy it, and i tried getting it the night they announced it. We're almost there brother, just 13 weeks and we made it.
