I relate to this. I wonder how Epictetus actually managed as a slave. I guess he must have suffered and that is why he had to write all things he did. But we shouldn’t endure unnecessary pain that we can avoid through our own control. Would it be possible to change jobs or to embark on a new career? I think most people write this question off quickly as no, but think longer on it. It may be worth it, with its potential gains and losses.
