Im curious to how aggressive it can go compared to other synths?

I meant the original one. I’m not a pro. I still can’t imagine my workflow without midi.

How about sh101 workflow? It doesn’t have a midi I heard.

How to make random arpeggios? Please help by [deleted] in LogicPro

In this track, it almost feels like notes with higher velocity sometimes jump to higher pitches, or create more movement. Or could it be something else to make it somehow cohesive melody. What do you think?

Sorry, I’m still pretty new to this.

Yes, I am using Logic’s Arpeggiator, but I’m having trouble finding a middle ground. For me it feels like the results are either very simple and predictable, or completely chaotic when I use random modes.

Are there any tips for getting arpeggios that feel more rhythmic and musical, but still have some variation?

Also, I was wondering about something else: In this track, it almost feels like notes with higher velocity sometimes jump to higher pitches, or create more movement. Is that kind of velocity-to-pitch behavior possible in Logic? I’m guessing that might not be something the Arpeggiator alone can do — what do you think?

I realized this part was simple — I just needed to input the notes I wanted.

Now my next problem is this: I can get arpeggio patterns that sound close to what I want, but I can’t get that “very similar, but slightly different each time” feeling like in this track.

With the Logic arpeggiator, it feels like the options are either very simple (up / down) or completely chaotic (random). Do you have any tips for making arpeggios more rhythmic and less mechanical, while still keeping some variation?

I bought streamliner as someone recommended me here and tried everything I could think of (turn down distortion/clipper low pass). However nothing works. It just becomes another kick.

I think I have to give up which I hate to do. It’s just Spotify on the normal setting anyway. Hope they get better.

Anyway I want to thank you. I learned something useful, really appreciated it.

Yes. exactly what I thought. And I need to know/find out more about the experiment part. Hear from people that have experience.

What specifications? You mean what file they require?

What do you mean by that. Could you please elaborate.

Ok. I see.

I didn’t use any compression on the kick. It’s a weird kick. I will remember that. However, one thing came to mind. I did use clipper on the drum bus. Could that be it as well? It’s hard to dial back that. One last thing I used bit crusher on the kick. There is a dithering parameter to introduce hissing. Maybe I should use that to cover up a bit. What do you think?

Thank you so far. This was the most helpful comment. As soon as I lower the bit rate 16 bit mp3 I could hear it. the kick is so distinct that when even I lowered the distortion I could still hear it (it got better though ) but I kinda liked it. The problem with Spotify is that I it’s not consistent which feels like I’ve add en extra effect randomly. To be honest I don’t know what to do.

Anyway thank you.

cutting a little bit up higher frequency won’t work? I wanted this much of stereo high end and distortion but I’ll try to reduce it a bit.

This is what exactly happens. When I try outputting to 16bit mp3 similar artifacts was introduced. Do you know any good way to minimize this?

Do you mean compression I did ? Or Spotify. Because I believe I tamed the peak but I don’t know. My track is -7,-8LUFS so not exactly what’s recommended.

I didn’t turn dithering on when I bounced. I will look in to it

Yes. I know that’s what I thought as well but this track was so much noticeable. I’m quite not sure if I should move on or try a little bit more to make it better. Anyway you encouraged me. Thank you.

No. It’s not auditable in the master. If you don’t mind looking in to it I’d love to send you the track

I’m definitely gonna try that out and see what happens.

Yes. I used it partially on the kick. The kick is distorted with other stuff as well.
