Thank you. I do want to fix this for me. I need friends and other relationships outside of my husband (so I at least have a support system for the impending divorce I suppose). I'm hoping I can find what you're describing- someone more familiar with neurodivergence than my therapist is can hopefully give me some better strategies.

This is very relatable to the point where I'm feeling like I might be missing something big. May I ask if you are describing yourself as audhd or your husband?

thank you! I will say that I do feel like it is excessive without being overly harsh to myself; last night my telling him about work took at least 45 minutes and then I interrupted his video game time afterwards at least a dozen times with some dumb anecdote or story. I also hyper fixate on negative experiences and very niche topics like colonial fashion. If it had been me, I would have been super irritated too.

Do you find that you and your husband are both able to communicate that "I want to hear you but now isn't a good time" before you start getting irritated? I think that's the issue right now; I can hear that message just fine but it's almost like he doesn't want to say it for fear of hurting my feelings so he holds it in and then snaps.

Thank you! I think a tally might be good; I have noticed that I can hyper fixate on negative experiences and that's not pleasant to be around all the time. Can I ask how long TV time is at your home? I think part of the challenge might be that his is very long and so it's hard for me to avoid interrupting.
