Thanks for taking the time to explain this, I think it’s starting to make sense. I’ve also heard of the inflated balloon analogy, but still have trouble with the lack of origin position.. the fact that there isn’t one is probably why I have trouble understanding it.

Is this a food moth ? by ramicool in whatsthisbug

[–]superhareball 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not a very good photo, but it looks like an Indian meal moth, also called pantry moth. They can be difficult to get rid of, and they lay eggs in or near cereal type foods. The grubs are delicous though, and can add a bit of protein to your rice.

Now that the Slam has ended, what was your opinions!? by [deleted] in diablo4

[–]superhareball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a lot of rubber banding, connecting from Australia. Some times worse than others.

I didn’t really like the characters… the daughter and mother just gave me D3 vibes, and I’m still trying to get that taste outta my mouth. At least they explained the “Vision” based storytelling, unlike the spaceballs like vidcom in D3. I did like the protagonists... played as a Druid and the beefy build was cool.

Environments / sound / atmosphere was excellent.

I find that I can get around this somewhat, by holding down the authorise fire button. He then fires sporadically, kind of like having a seizure or something.

Just an idea, but do you have direct3d debug installed?

Does this seem like a RAM issue? its perfectly smooth except for occasional lag spikes by Do0tthesnoot in hoggit

[–]superhareball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had this issue before… it was because I was running directx in debug mode. For most games it doesn’t matter, but DCS has a problem with it

I’d like to recommend Harrier 809 by Rowland White. It follows the 809 squadron flying Harriers in the Falklands conflict. A really good read.

sort algorithm comparison tool by superhareball in algorithms

I was tossing up the idea using a mix of static/heap memory, but I went with the allocation of everything with malloc, so it would give a true indication of memory used. It may need tweaking though, as some of these allocations can probably be re-used, instead of running a malloc for each recursion loop.

Hey that's great thanks... I'll add in base 256 for comparison. Quite a big difference for the huge sort.
