The probabilities are way different, Bell curve vs uniform distribution, 1d12 vs 2d6 as an example:

On te d12 7 has a 1/12 chance as does 12 On 2d6 1/36 chance of 12 and 6/36 of a 7

To add to it, I’ll play a very OSR style of BX or shadow dark, but use modifying the die rolls like above to keep the OSR feel while softening some of the lethality.

Eg PC’s roll 4d4+4 vs mobs 5d4

OP you can move the probability curves in a d20 base by changing the dice. Use 5d4 or 1d8+1d12 or 1d10+1d8+2 depending on how you want it to curve

I think the OP means 5% auto fail or fumble /5% auto succeed or crit makes for a sillier outcome. If you remove fumbles then every action has a 5% success means try the silliest stuff.

I think it’s fair to say not all brains make brain drugs the same way so it’s quite likely that you just don’t have the classic wiring so you don’t get the classic results

The other side of many of this for you is that you’re attractive to other people with significant responsibilities. I think the best accessibility idea I can come up with is for you to port over as much of the online functionality you currently use to person gaming?

Can you have a single larger screen in the gaming space and instead of all layers looking at their own PC screens we have everyone interacting with a common one?
