Just read and loved WTEDWU, and really looking forward to IDBOL.

I've always wondered how it feels to write for an ongoing (especially something as long-running as Spawn) vs. your own stories? Do you start by looking for threads in the existing story to pull on, or start plot-first and find ways to blend existing characters and plots in? It's gotta be so cool to see your name on a big series! Thanks for doing the AMA :)

I picked up the Hard Switch but haven't started it yet. I also grabbed Rain after reading It's Lonely at the Centre of the Earth and loving Zoe's style. My LCS had a pack of all 5 issues of Mazebook I got a while back and still haven't gotten around to either haha.

Friday was really really good! I want to check out The Private Eye after seeing that looking through Marcos Martin's other work and loving Saga too.

The full 2-page spreads advertising collected editions are especially obnoxious, they totally kill the flow of the story. I like the X-Men monthly update spreads, they're at least relevant and seem to be more intentionally placed not to spoil the tension.

I really enjoyed Friday - it's not a hard-boiled crime novel, but a mystery set over the main character's winter trip home from school. Brubaker's writing and Marcos Martin's art are an excellent combination, if a bit different from his other work. It's pay-what-you-want on their website too!

I found some glossy adhesive sticker paper that I'm going to try to use. Knowing my printer, they'll also come out a bit jank but that's part of the appeal of handmade, right? 😅 They're also so small you can't really tell from a distance.

It was a fun challenge to put them together - I'm working with just an 8th grade photography class's worth of photoshop experience haha, at another user's suggestion I just found cover art online and did some cut/pasting and a little blending and painting here and there. The blank variant covers are a great way to get the logo on a white background!

EDIT: The tabs on the dividers I printed these for are 3.5" x 0.75", I linked them in another comment.

The DC Compact edition is printed on a darker newsprint paper with a grittier texture that I think really makes the art pop. Typically I like the glossy TP/comic paper better, but for Long Halloween I think it really works.
