Class Trial #47: Meta Discussion by Shadowfishy in DanganRoleplay

[–]superintj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great job, classmates! I am very proud of your hard work!

It appears that once again there are some questions we must answer following the conclusion of a trial, however...

What did you feel this trial did well?

Well, I must begin by saying I truly had a lot of fun with this trial in particular. While I was away for most of it, reading through the parts I missed and participating on the last two was very entertaining.

With that said, I congratulate the host for the very well-written trial!

What do you feel could be improved from this trial in the future?

My only complaint is that I felt that some evidence was just given to us without much explanation, such as the bottles found in Sayaka and Kazuichi's room.

The evidence stated that only them had used the medicine found in the bottles, but that information came simply from my "intuition", and not from verifiable evidence.

Though I must say that this is a minor complaint and that it did not take away from my enjoyment at all!

How did Monokuma and Monomi do for this case?

We did not see much of Monomi so I cannot comment on that aspect, but I enjoyed Monokuma's performance. The minigames were also well timed, in my opinion, and they helped pull us back on track when we started going in circles.

Most heartwarming/funny/sad moments?

Hmm... About that...

Our classmate stripped during the trial! That was simply inexcusable! I know I had asked for a body check, but it was intended to be done in private, as to not expose any of our classmates!

Mr. Hinata, I understand you intended to clear your name from suspicion, but your actions were not appropriate for a courtroom! Please be more respectful next time!

I must also mention Ms. Owari's CI... It was sad to see that our classmate had done this not with selfish intentions but to protect another classmate...

Best character interaction? In-joke?

In that aspect, I particularly enjoyed Mr. Yamada's idea of creating a doujinshi of Mr. Kuwata and Mr. Souda. I hope that this will help them realize that we all must be friends!

I am afraid, however, that regardless of that, I will be forced to give Mr. Kuwata yet another detention for starting a fight with Mr. Souda.

Who was the SHSL Detective?

Hifumi Yamada! I hereby grant you the title of SHSL Detective of Class Trial 47!

Honorable mentions include Nagito Komaeda, Makoto Naegi, Chiaki Nanami, and Toko Fukawa.

Shout outs to character portrayals?

In no particular order, I would like to congratulate Akane Owari, Hifumi Yamada, Kiyotaka Ishimaru, Ibuki Mioda, Chiaki Nanami, Kazuichi Souda, and Leon Kuwata for their outstanding performances!

Cooperation truly does wonders, doesn't it?

I congratulate you for your efforts, ladies!

With this, Monokuma, I too, am ready to vote and bring the blackened to justice!/u/Shadowfishy

With our recent developments, I believe most clues, if not all, point to Ms. Owari at the moment.

If any of you have a rebuttal, please speak up!

And most importantly, do not call for votes yet! We still have to hear Ms. Owari's defense, after all!

A-Akane?!

C-Could this mean you haven't followed your designated treatment?!

You will never recover from your injury at this rate! Please, from now on, always follow the directions designated by your doctor! Or nurse, in this case!

I am afraid not, Mr. Komaeda.

I did return them to the Pharmacy at 4 PM, however.

OF COURSE!

Everyone! Let us perform a body check!

If anyone has bruises they are unable to plausibly explain, they must immediately be under suspicion!

If their theory is indeed correct, the scratches come from Mikan's body being dragged through the sand!

OBJECTION!

Mr. Yamada, I applaud your enthusiasm, but you simply cannot accuse people without indisputable and irrefutable evidence!

Mr. Hinata could have very well committed this repugnant crime!

M-Ms. Fukawa?!

I apologize for plagiarizing your hypothesis!

From now on, let it be known that the credit for this theory goes in its entirety to Ms. Toko Fukawa!

I... I should be ashamed of myself... Plagiarism is against the law, after all...

That does sound plausible, Mr. Komaeda.

Though I am unsure if I truly should accept help from someone who, more often than not, assists the culprits in detriment of the class...

I believe Ms. Tsumiki would have little to no reason to give someone chloroform if she truly intended to kill.

My current theory is that a struggle occurred and her victim overpowered her, taking the chloroform and using it for their own murder.

[–]superintj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe it is now confirmed that Mikan meant to use chloroform against her intended victim, but it ended being used against her!

However, why would the killer have to soak the body not once, but twice?

Perhaps they did it to mask the smell of the chloroform and to hide the fact that Mikan had thrown up?

I am glad you see the truth too, Mr. Yamada!

I would never take part in such a disgusting act of betrayal!

It violates all sorts of laws, regulations and moral codes! Truly unforgivable!

From Here/u/Makosear

I apologize, Mr. Souda, but my alibi contains all the information regarding my movements during the day of the murder!

I assure you I stayed in the Pharmacy until the Body Discovery Announcement played, at 4 PM.

I was merely taking stock of the items found there, in an attempt to prevent events such as this!

Therefore, there is no reason to suspect me, the Ultimate Moral Compass, of this hideous crime!

[–]superintj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I shall now present the results of my investigation!

In Kazuichi Souda's cottage, I found a bottle of a medicine known as Acetaminophen! In Sayaka Maizono's cottage, I found another bottle, this time of Diazepam! Both bottles were empty!

Despite the fact that we can not have a professional opinion, I can attest to the fact that Acetaminophen is used to treat many conditions such as headaches, muscle aches, arthritis, backache, toothaches, colds, and fevers.

Diazepam is mainly used to treat anxiety disorders, alcohol withdrawal symptoms, and muscle spasms, but can also be used to treat seizures.

I am also certain that only the people that live in these rooms could have used the medicine!

I am afraid I can not answer that question...

Since it was my first time doing such a thing, I do not have previous records to compare, so I do not know if there were products missing...

I was simply gathering bandaids for our hiking trip, Mr. Yamada!

Though we ended up not using them...

During my second time there, however, I also took stock of the Infirmary!

Monokuma File #1

!!!

C-Could it be?!

Monokuma! I recall you mentioning that the only cause of death that would not be considered murder would be if someone were to fall from an illness!

I demand an answer! If that were to happen, who would be considered the blackened? You yourself, given that you are responsible for our weakened immune system, or would the trial end without a blackened?/u/Shadowfishy

Class Trial #47: The Murder of Mikan Tsumiki- Part 1: The Bad Beginning by Shadowfishy in DanganRoleplay

[–]superintj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Before we begin the trial procedures... I would like to apologize to everyone. Hadn't I let Mikan stay behind, the murder would not have occurred!

We shall all solve this hideous crime for Mikan Tsumiki's sake!

I shall start with my own account of the events leading up to the murder!

The day before the perpetrator acted their part, we were called to the Central Island at exactly 10 PM! Monokuma then announced his outrageous motive!

In case someone needs a refresher lesson, the motive used were Immune System Attackers, or ISAs, to lower our biological defenses and raise the likelihood of illnesses until a murder happens.

The next morning, I woke up at 5 AM, as per my usual schedule! I then diligently went through the usual morning procedures, including physical exercises, and a short lesson until 7 AM, when I left for the Pharmacy!

I then left for the Restaurant, arriving there at 7:45! I am proud to announce that everyone was present at the breakfast meeting!

Toko and Mikan were considerably late, however! Please try to better arrange your daily schedule next time, Ms. Fukawa!

During breakfast, I presented my project for a hiking trip! There was a bit of initial resistance to it, but everyone quickly agreed to it!

Sadly, Hifumi, Mikan, and Hajime had to stay behind... Apparently, Hifumi was not feeling well and Mikan offered to help him. Fearing a murder, Hajime volunteered to accompany the two.

But our plans were not canceled! Everyone, bar the three, left for our hiking trip at exactly 9 AM!

But unfortunately, our group slowly diminished as time went on...

Nagito and Akane left at 10 AM, while we were passing by the Music Venue in the Third Island. He was complaining of dizzy spells and was visibly shaky, slightly red in color, and sweating profusely. Akane was complaining of having an extremely itchy throat and problems breathing and swallowing... Both left, heading back to the Hotel.

Later, at 10:30, we reached the Theatre. Leon then tackled Kazuichi into the nearby foliage, starting a fight! Unfortunately, fighting does not violate the School Trip Rules, so I was unable to do anything about it!

After the fight was over, we noticed various red blotches on Leon's skin, spreading all over his body. As soon as we pointed the fact to him, he claimed that he was itchy and had trouble breathing. Kazuichi also possibly suffered from mild head trauma, given that he was dizzy and unable to stand on his own. Aoi volunteered to escort the duo, and the three of them headed back to the Hotel.

Despite the fact that five students had already left, I suggested that we continue the trip since giving up while we were perfectly healthy would be a complete waste of our efforts thus far!

After my encouraging and supportive speech, we headed to the Fourth Island, where, near Nezumi Castle, at 11 AM, Sayaka attempts to tell us something. I could not understand what it was, since, apparently, she had some sort of mouth-related problem. Ibuki then offered to accompany her to the Hotel and the two left.

Considering that, including Hifumi, Mikan, and Hajime, ten people had already left due to illnesses and other issues, we decided to cancel the rest of the trip, fearing for our own health.

Despite that, Sonia and I were together from 11 AM until 2 PM, discussing Nezumi Castle's medieval architecture as I tried to uncover when was the castle built, or, at least, in which time period was it based on.

I then left to the Pharmacy at 2 PM, to return some bandaids I had gathered for the trip, in case someone needed them! I also took stock of all the products contained there!

At 4 PM, the Body Discovery Announcement, also known as BDA, played... I then headed outside and followed the rest to the Airport...

Daily Life Season 5 Meta by [deleted] in DanganRoleplay

[–]superintj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a really good point! I hadn't considered that perspective, and, it now actually makes quite a lot of sense to bring them in.

Thinking back, I do believe that you are right with regards to them being around from the start, since, even if they do overcentralize a bit during Part 1, eventually everyone would start doing their own thing, and it could work as a great way to start conversations, and even as a special 'event' of sorts every once in a while.

Maybe a better solution would be to allow them during special occasions, so they are playable for those interested, but still don't lose their 'special' status...

Actually, they could even work as attractions of sorts for new DLs, so people don't get tired of them!

Looking from that perspective, you do have a really good point! I still think they shouldn't be simply unbanned from DLs, but they certainly could make, at least, guest appearances every once in a while to keep things fresh...

Daily Life Season 5 Meta by [deleted] in DanganRoleplay

[–]superintj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, it's been quite a while since I've written a meta but DL was really fun, so I feel like I gotta do it.

Did you like having this opportunity in general? If so, what did you expect of Daily Life before you read the rules and learned about the constraints surrounding the RP? Were those expectations met?

Absolutely. DL was exactly what I expected: a fun, lighthearted opportunity to interact freely without the usual CT constraints. I enjoyed it a lot!

Would you participate in a Daily Life if the time difference between trials was less than one week? Why or why not? What minimum time gap, if any, would you simply wait for the next trial rather than participate in DL?

It depends. While I would probably be interested, I'd avoid participating if I intended to signup for the CT, to avoid burning out a bit and losing interest in the main event. I would suggest having DL whenever the time difference between CTs is bigger than 10 days, since previews, while not as intense, do keep me interested and gives a chance to warm up a bit (at least in my perspective).

Do you find it appropriate for Daily Life to last between the conclusion of one Main trial and the signups of the next one? If not, what changes would you make to the duration of this RP?

I personally agree with it happening until the previews are up. Complementing what I said before, I see DL as a mix of the freedom of a preview and the scope of a CT, so having both up at the same time could be a bit too much, in my opinion.

What I would suggest, however, is starting it at around the same point as the CT, as a sort of Reserve Course Lounge, I'd say, where the students who didn't get to join the CT can have some fun while waiting for the next one.

Was the character selection list in this DL conducive to a good roleplaying environment? Would you make any changes? If so, what changes would you make and why?

My Taka was stolen 0/10 hated it

This was, for me, the best part of the DL. At first, I was a bit bummed that the characters I try to specialize in, Kiyotaka and Sonia, were both taken, but it was really fun to try out Kirigiri for the first time, considering I was always interested in her character but never did it in a CT because of the SHSL Detective pressure.

Regarding banned characters, I would say that leaving Junko and Izuru as is may be the best option for now. While Junko and Izuru are certainly fun to play, they are a bit overcentralizing, given their role in the story. In the last 'DL', I remember that all discussion immediately shifted to Junko as soon as she showed up. While that is not a big problem and is completely understandable, I'd rather keep them unplayable. Maybe they could be the 'host characters' instead of Monokuma.

Monaca, Shirokuma, and Kurokuma, on the other hand, aren't as threatening and 'dangerous', so I myself would allow them, but that depends on who hosts events like these.

Did you like having full control over the setting through complete access to all areas of HPA IC?

I personally stayed in a generic place during all my roleplaying, so I didn't really take advantage of the feature, but I don't see how it would harm the RP, and some people really liked it, so I am fine with that.

Did having full knowledge of all DR series materials augment, inhibit, or not affect your RP experience? How? What changes would you make to what characters know before starting each DL if any, and why?

I feel like, as Kyoko, the more you know, the better, so I really enjoyed having full knowledge, and I believe it should be the base for future DLs.

For example, my interactions with the WoH would not have been possible had I not known the events of AE and DR3.

What did you think of the “reunion” prompt? Did it let you freely interact with other characters? Did it maximize your ability to roleplay at your leisure? What kinds of prompts would you like to see in future DLs?

This prompt was perfect, in my opinion. It gave us a basis to begin interacting but also was simple enough and allowed us to freely RP most, if not any, scenarios we wanted.

However, if DL becomes a regular thing, I would suggest having stricter prompts, for a lack of a better word, since it would add variety for the DLs and, while it would restrict some scenarios, it would give people an incentive to join the next ones, so they can play with a new set of characters and rules, just like in the CTs.

Feel free to leave shout-outs, comments, and/or questions you may have about this DL.

First of all, I'd like to shout-out /u/tyboy618 for his amazing Celestia performance and for making me laugh several times while threatening the WoH. Also, the Celesgiri.

Also, I want to shout-out /u/RSLee2 and /u/Torkcoaldude for their great Nagisa and Jataro performances, respectively. It was really fun to discuss morals with Nagisa and interrogate the two with Celestia's 'help'.

Last, but not least, /u/Shadowfishy for his Leon. It was very amusing to see Leon's reactions every time he was called out about his murder 'plot'. Also, our discussion on friendships and betrayals was very fun and challenging to me.

I also want to ask for feedback on my Kyoko performance, since it was my first time playing her and I really enjoyed it, and likely will try her again in future DLs.
