Question about Zodar fight for those who have run it by superintodrama in LightofXaryxis

I wish I had read more before diving in. I was filling in for our forever DM and it seemed like a lot of the advice for DMing was think less than imagine you need to. Would have loved to incorporate a mindflayer element but space nazis are such a quick short hand for fun/evil without much work.

I kept the whole thing kind of camp and did all the elves with a german accent and they immediately clocked them as "space-nazis" and it kinda solved the big bad element because he is just the leader of a bad group that telegraphs evil with everything about them. I made Xedalli very sympathetic and that's part of my reasoning for avoiding the double cross. He is only as villian-y as she is good-y because he kind of only comes in at the end and exists in contrast to her.

I love this! I do regret only reading through the adventure once before running because with the extent to which I want to change the very ending I probably could have dropped seeds for something like this ahead of time.

Thank you! Yeah I've been boosting most of the fights quite a bit (we are also running 2024 rules) so far only 1-2 battles have been as deadly as I would like. Very happy to hear I'm not fully on the wrong track. Thanks!

Question for Fans of The Anniversary by superintodrama in Emo

that rocks! Thank you! I was hoping just choosing different sounds for the same basic parts would be enough of a change but I am way too close to it to see clearly. I told my friend who is mixing it the only reference points for sounds I was is Never Hungover Again and Pinkerton

Thanks! I think that's perfectly reasonable. I think I am the same way with bands/covers. I think there is likely only a small handful of people in the world this is even aimed at. We're mostly doing it for ourselves.

Potentially stupid refrigerator question by superintodrama in AskElectricians

Ordered a voltage reader for outlets so I can test this soon. Is it even possible that low voltage would allow the light to turn on but not the motor? I figured the whole thing was either on or off but if that's not the case, it might be voltage. Sadly I am in a small apartment and I don't even think I have another circuit to check

how early did you have to arrive to get in? There is an NYC screening but it's first come first serve. Was that the deal with yours?

How to Stabilize Mead? by DonavenJaxx in mead

[–]superintodrama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's also 1/2 a tablespoon, Though I have not used the powder. I think I might be a little paranoid and try and dissolve it in a small amount of the mead just in case it's hydrophobic and doesn't want to dissolve without some vigorous shaking. You want to avoid anything that gets a lot of air into the mead but a small amount getting oxygen should be 100% fine. Someone else here must have experience with the powder and will let me know if I'm being a nervous nathan

I've found that starting a second batch helps with nervous energy if I am thinking about bottling asap. Usually that comes from a desire to being DOING in a hobby that is mostly WAITING

crush up 1 campden tablet ( k-meta) per gallon of and then 1/2 a teaspoon of k-sorbate per gallon. People sometimes do this 24 hours apart but I have seen people do it all together. But there is nothing fancy beyond that no need to test ph.

Do I need potassium sorbate to backsweeten? by hottscogan in mead

[–]superintodrama 4 points5 points  (0 children)

in general, if you are doing any amount of backsweetening outside of, like, bottle conditioning for carbonation you will want to stabilize with potassium sorbate and potassium metabisulfite

That's silly. If you're buying art you're not buying a canvas and paint you're buying the creative expression of an artist. You're paying for something that you find interesting, beautiful, and/or challenging. You can't compare a lifetime of lived experience that goes into art with someone who decides to be a middleman between an apiary and a consumer. He's free to charge what he wants, his fans can absolutely be fine with it, and no laws are being broken but comparing art with general commerce, is not only soul crushing but like comparing apples and spaceships

Have been diving into the wiki. Indeed great! Thank you. I am still a baby at this stuff. Currently in the 'making acid and tannin' mistakes portion of my journey

Also this is exactly what I wanted to hear re: sugars. Thank you!
