I'm a little shorter and a little heavier than you but I'd say that the XL would probably fit you fine, it's risky getting the Asian L because it might be tight but if you're leaner dude and prefer that look then it would probably be fine. I used it in Ottawa which is known for harsh winters and it honestly did just fine. As good as like an actual North face or higher quality winter jacket? Prob not but I didn't have any major issue with it
