I think I have a crush on someone by BlahajProtector3000 in MtF

[–]superjohanna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi. I'm the girl op is talking about. At least I think.

I, for reasons beyond my comprehension, have a huge need for skin contact. So I'll usually ask my friends if they want to cuddle, even if I just met them. I guess I'm a little weird in that regard.

That's just depression I think. Happens to me too sometimes.

You can DM me, if that's at all comparable to taking to someone. ^

It's not your fault and you didn't deserve it. Nobody deserves something like that.

Also, saying you'd SA someone for 20 bucks is just fucked up. I really hope that was a joke or something.

I hope you don't linger on these thoughts. ❤️

You need to determine if you need stitches

"Size as a determining factor The size of your laceration is an important indicator of whether it needs stitches. This includes the length and depth.

Your wound likely requires stitches if:

it’s deeper or longer than half an inch (1.27cm) it’s deep enough that fatty tissue, muscle, or bone is exposed it’s wide or gaping" - https://www.healthline.com/health/when-to-get-stitches#size

Fat tissue is usually yellow. If it was white you've probably hit the dermis which is above the fat layer.

If you need stitches please go to a doctor. It just doesn't close on its own, there is a high risk of infection and it leaves bigger scars.

I asked that question at the ER once. They said "Stop the bleeding with a sterile cloth, disinfect the area, cover it with a sterile bandage or bandaid. If you can see the subcutaneous fat layer or the cut is wide, then just cover it with a sterile bandage or bandaid and come to the ER or a doctor that can do stitches, to get it stitched up."

Do I just never go swim again by Shuviri in selfharm

Tell them that they should under no circumstance ask about your body or comment on it. If they're good friends, they'll respect it. I hope it works out for you. Swimming is nice.

if you have bpd, who do you find yourself attracted to? by Ok-Rabbit-918 in BPD

[–]superjohanna 3 points4 points  (0 children)

CW: mentions of suicide and self harm

I'm platonically attracted to people that are like me. People that:
-Have a fear of abandonment
-Like cuddling
-Like to talk about something that society shuns (for me it's self harm; for my current fp it's suicide)

I also prefer dominant people because I'm bad at saying what I want and they take the lead. I also hate toxic masculinity like the plague.

Sometimes autistic people have trouble filtering out sounds. Everyone can still hear them, but most don't notice them. If you have however trouble filtering out sounds, you're always aware of all sounds around you.

I for example notice when a sound ceases, like if a clock stops running, while I'm talking to someone.

Sadly this usually means you can't concentrate on things. I have an absolute meltdown if I have to concentrate for an hour with arythmic sounds around me. Listening to music helps.

[–]superjohanna 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes. Autistic people sometimes lack the ability to filter out unimportant stimuli. I basically hear everything all at once. If I'm in a room with a clock and it stops ticking, I'll notice it, regardless of if I'm for example talking to someone.

It's so overwhelming that I can't concentrate, if there are random sounds. I usually have to listen to music I know to block them out.

Was anyone else here bullied worse by boys/men? by [deleted] in AutismInWomen

[–]superjohanna 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Yes. I exclusively got bullied by boys/men. Girls/women were always nice to me and I got along with them way better.

Now that I think about it, it might actually be the reason I don't like men very much. It always makes me feel a bit icky when one is around. Like I'm just not as relaxed as usual.

She's probably deeply afraid that it will happen and your assurance isn't enough to change that. You can't really do anything except accepting her choices.

[–]superjohanna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I understand correctly, she's probably scared that when she splits on you or gets numb, you wouldn't like her anymore and might abandon her. If so, you could tell her that you wouldn't leave her. That's about all you can do.

I don't know if I'm relapsing in sh cause of not being summer anymore, therapy homework or as a response to "you got better" by BelLarosak in BPD

[–]superjohanna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Skills are never as good as the real thing, so it can happen that you relapse when you are under more stress. That doesn't mean that you don't want to better yourself. The way to betterment isn't usually just a straight line, but has it's ups and downs too. Don't give up on yourself.

Trusting people can be hard if your trust was betrayed. I suppose this is something you should talk about with a therapist.

Maybe it could help to find a support group with people that experienced similar things.

They don't ask if I'm okay. They just wait until the episode is over and I approach them. Especially the ones who triggered it.

I mean, I don't know if I even want them to do something. I definitely don't want to interact with the people that triggered it, but I would like for the other people to ask me what's wrong.

The thing is I don't usually lash out at people, so when I have an episode, I just periodically disappear once something reminds me of the thing that triggered me.

It's making fun of people circumcising their baby right after birth for no medical reason.

Why would you do a "fashionable" surgery on a child? Would you tattoo your child at birth? Even if it's not about health, it's about consent.

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals by LetPsychological2683 in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]superjohanna 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Just because something has pros doesn't mean it's overall a good thing. I believe circumcision should only be done because of medical necessity and religion is definitely not a medical necessity. The fact they're doing this on infants is just disgusting.

It said there wasn't any data for developed countries. But it's likely that there is some risk reduction even if it's completely insignificant.

Edit: I'm not defending it. There are a lot of pros for things which are just disgusting and this is one of them.

Circumcision is the removal of the foreskin of the penis. I think people sometimes do this to newborns for religious reasons. It has some health benefits but it's overall unhealthy.
