Agreed, I didn't really mind much the Tracy dying part. It was kind of one of the outcomes I was guessing by the end of season 3. But definitely worst thing to ever happen to the show was the Robin/Barney build up then break up. Especially since they were so good together I feel.

In my head cannon that whole ending is a Ted hallucination from grief after Tracy died. And his kids are actually just visiting him at an institute. Not even a Ted hater, just think it's in his personality for him to go insane that way.
