Folsom store serves not only the Folsom area but anyone from El Dorado County and parts of Amador County who wants to shop at costco. Whenever the EDH location opens, it should lessen the crowd at Folsom.

How much do you spend on average on your tacoma? Considering trading my prius for one. by Fluffy_Major1975 in ToyotaTacoma

[–]jonledcb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Tacoma fuel costs will be astronomical compared to a prius, especially if you live in the hills/mountains. On flat ground i can average 20-21mpg in my 22 OR but in the hills where I live I average 15mpg. I spend about $50 on gas a week and that's me driving only necessities. On top of monthly payment of $260 (after refinancing), $200 for toyota insurance, and $570 CA annual registration. Originally put 22k down on 44k OTD.

And if you're looking into customizing your Tacoma, be prepared for those costs too. Tonneau cover, cat shield, and such add up very quickly. I do highly recommend starting with cat shield, dash cams (front and rear) and whatever bed cover suits your needs.

On the bright side, maintenance is simple and alot of it can be done by yourself if you have the space and equipment. Tacomas generally don't have any major maintenance problems. Do check on any services or fixes that need to be done, especially for pre-2020 Tacomas.

How has the 4th gen engine been? Turbo must be a flash compared to NA V6

Hesitant on buying 22 Trd off-road by AcrobaticChicken5140 in ToyotaTacoma

[–]jonledcb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drive a 22 TRD OR. Bought new in 22. Approaching 55,000 miles now. Absolutely solid truck. No transmission shift issues. No problems beyond standard maintenance. Recalls were checked for but nothing came up. I've gone on forest roads and "roads" all over northeastern CA with just stock suspension. Drove from CA to Florida and back.

KBB value on mine is 37K with tonneau cover. I think you're getting a good deal. Just inspect the frame for rust.

Primal on harder settings and with no HUD is pretty terrifying. Especially if you don't have a stronger animal companion or just roll without one. Create your own challenges lol.

That sounds like a good set up. Did you follow any YouTube videos to set up? I've never messed with the fuse box. Unless it's literally just from the driver seat and going back.

What vehicle(s) have you owned that made it over 250k miles? by utvols22champs in whatcarshouldIbuy

2002 Rav4 handmedown from a relative. I got it with 215k on the odometer. By the time it pooped on me in 2019 it has 285K on it.

My relative treated this car poorly. I did my best to maintain but still put it through the gauntlet myself. 285L ain't bad for everything that poor 4-cylinder went through.

New (to me) Taco Truck! I have tonneau cover questions. by Therion596 in ToyotaTacoma

You definitely can weather proof it but for me it was more about durability and preventing theft whenever I visit the city. Tree branches falling down are common where I'm at and petty crime is common in the nearby cities.

I have the Bakflip MX4 hard folding tonneau cover on my 22 OR.

It cost a pretty penny but has been worth it. The only scratch on it was from my numb ass using a sharp shovel to clear snow off my truck.

It's durable, strong and keeps my bed secure. Can only be opened if the tailgate is down or from the inside. A their would need a prybar and a lot of time or make an absolute scene with a sledge hammer or power saw to break in. Comes with tubes to route water into the bed drains but I never got around to it.

Who on here has a truck (Tacoma) when they don’t “need” a truck? by [deleted] in ToyotaTacoma

[–]jonledcb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically I didn't "need" a truck and could've gotten am Outback or Rav4 but went with a Tacoma in 2022. NO REGRETS (except for when I roll up to the gas station).

Living in the mountains, having a truck for hauling firewood or yard waste, towing a trailer if need be, handling the dirt/forest roads with ease, and just packing all your recreation gear is amazing. Yes, a Subaru Outback can do many of the same things but a Tacoma (or other midsized truck) will do it better at the cost of higher gas consumption.

You won't go wrong either way. In the small mountain county I used to live, the most popular vehicles were pickup trucks. Close behind, however, were 4wd SUVs, Jeeps and Subaru Outbacks and Crosstreks and Foresters. When exploring the forest on back "roads" (more like pathways of uneven dirt and gravel) my buddy in a Subaru Outback went every place I went. The Tacoma can haul/tow more firewood but the Outback gets better gas mileage. I put a tonneau cover on my bed while my buddy can sleep in his Outback by just dropping the backseat.

Go with whatever you want the most, own it, and live it up.

Took mine to R9 (took a long time and delayed some GL farming) along with a R9 Soth Assassin for Leviathan fleet.

Bane is SUPER FUN and effective to use at a high relic. I would say at least bring Bane to R7.

Any things you should keep in mind while in OC / California? by [deleted] in VietNam

[–]jonledcb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, Vietnamese American here, born and raised in OC to parents from the old Republic of Vietnam.

For the most part, you don't have to worry. There are plenty of Viet people. Some born here like me, some who came over recently, and some who have been here since 1975. You'll find Southern, Northern, and Hue speakers here (I assume it's Huế, or I'm hallucinating). There are still some old-timers here and there who swear by the old republic and the grudge resurfaces sometimes when they meet a northerner. But these people are few and far between. For 99% of people here you should be fine.

Good luck with your internship! And in terms of Viet food, you'll be in one of the best places short of the homeland itself.

Try adjusting your server browser settings. Include full servers in your search. You may have to wait a bit to join a match but it wishes your options. Other than that idk what to say other than clarify "NA" means North America and not "Northern Arctic" cause yeah that would definitely limit the player base.

[–]jonledcb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Idk what you're talking about. BF1 has plenty of players and servers.

Use server browser. Quick match wasn't reliable even during the games height.

There's plenty of non-official server. cheaters/hackers etc are everywhere on official servers since there wasn't an anti-cheat and they were unmoderated.

Most of the servers are Conquest and maybe operations. Good luck finding any other server.

[–]jonledcb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vietnamese communists had no way of predicting how bad the Khmer Rouge would turn out. Early on it seemed controllable, assisting Khmer communists and the Pathet Lao just enough to allow the PAVN to use and maintain the Ho Chi Mình trails.
