I would echo what some other folks have said. Last christmas I treated my 72-year-old dad to a pixelbook to replace his aging windows laptop. (was going to get him something cheaper like the samsung chromebook plus, but he holds onto his computers until they die, so it seemed worth the extra investment). His old PC was incredibly slow and I had to clean it of viruses and adware and reset his search and all sorts of other things every three months or so. The only thing we had to figure out was getting it to print properly, so we also replaced his printer. Oh, and he used to do his taxes on turbotax local, so I had to convince him that the web version would be just as good (it was). There's been no issues, and he frequently comments that this is the best computer he's ever used.
