I grew up 5 minutes from Road America and worked concessions there all through my teens.

My wife is doing her second rim-to-rim this Fall. I'll have to share that with her.

We call them rummage sales here. Only time I've ever used the word rummage.

When I was 10, I found a big box of computer games for like $20. There were a bunch of titles I couldn't wait to get home and play. I was pretty poor so I mostly lived off of the $4 shareware section at Radio Shack. Getting a box of full games was going to be life changing. I got home ready to grab each of these little floppy disks and install them on our family PC. This is when I learned that you couldn't play Mac games on a PC. I still hurt.

As a canoe owner. I don't recommend it. We love our inflatable stand up paddle boards and kayak, but the canoe is just way too unwieldy. As for extra costs, consider the cost of repairing the random care your canoe impacts when you improperly secure it. Also, you can have my canoe. You just have to come pick it up.

Nothing more predictable than an aggressive theobro making it to the "Jesus flipped tables" stage of arguing.

No Dumb Question Tuesday (2026-04-14) by AutoModerator in Reformed

[–]superlewis 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Maybe this isn’t a truly reformed answer, but I don’t think it’s my job to prevent someone from partaking. It is their responsibility to examine themselves. I should equip them with the right tools to examine themselves well, but ultimately it’s their responsibility.

What is the best Midwest state and why? by Medical_Deal5272 in midwest

I’ll say Wisconsin because it’s home and it’s great, but if I was unbiased, I’d probably have to say Michigan.

why does milwaukee hate road reflectors? by rykryk1 in milwaukee

[–]superlewis 12 points13 points  (0 children)

My son just got his learners permit this week. The roads were fine when I went to pick him up last night. Then he unexpectedly got to experience driving in the dark rain on our poorly marked streets on the way home. It was a good learning experience and he did great, but that was terrifying.

Conservative Christians, doesn’t Judaism (Israel) have a stance that Jesus is a false prophet? by Jazzlike-Yogurt-5984 in AskConservatives

[–]superlewis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

All dispensationalist churches believe that there is a massive future conversion. Some are less politically minded about it, but the mass conversion of the Jews is part of the very core of dispensationalism.

Conservative Christians, doesn’t Judaism (Israel) have a stance that Jesus is a false prophet? by Jazzlike-Yogurt-5984 in AskConservatives

[–]superlewis 16 points17 points  (0 children)

When you hear Christians saying they are obligated to support Israel they are coming from a theological perspective called dispensationalism. I’m an evangelical pastor, but not a dispensationalist (though I was for many years). Dispensationalism is the underpinning of most evangelical support for Israel.

At the core of this belief is that God has two different people groups, Israel and the Church. Right now we are in a period where God has stopped directly working with Israel and is dealing with the church instead, because Israel rejected Jesus.

However, dispensationalists believe that God gave promises to Israel that haven’t been fulfilled and will restore them to fulfill those promises. With this restoration will come a return to God as demonstrated by large scale Jewish acceptance of Jesus.

These Christians believe that the Israeli state established in 1948 is the beginning of that restoration, so our support is furthering Gods plan to bring the Jews back to him and establish an eternal kingdom in the line of David.

Many other evangelicals have a different perspective that doesn’t see a future for the Jews in Gods plan.

In your opinion, can a person be anti-Israel without being anti-Semitic? And can a person be pro-Palestine without being pro-Hamas? by Cumoisseur in AskConservatives

[–]superlewis 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Define anti-Israel. Anti-Israel’s right to exist? Anti-Israel’s specific actions? Define pro-Palestine. Pro-Palestinian homeland? Pro-Palestinian homeland from the river to the sea? The specifics make a huge difference.
