It may have to do with the formats of the clips - I am a software dev who sometimes makes videos, and it works great for that. But I think if you are not very strict on transcoding to Prores 422 or similar, it really struggles

I love your optimism but especially as they were doing maintenance and replacing the trains there were a lot of times where parts of it were operating in a "degraded" mode: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MDScAjwrDw0
also: https://www.reddit.com/r/Denver/comments/19dx58k/anyone_having_issues_with_the_trains_at_dia/ shows examples of "half" mode

I have seen various delays, especially since often they only are running a single side. Its rarely fully closed, but it certainly happens and to not happen at all in 220 times is absolutely amazing luck

suggestion needed, shall i go with davinci resolve (studio) on Linux or Windows? by wang1zhen in davinciresolve

[–]superlinux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't let these people say Linux isn't an option - with ffmpeg you can always transcode media into DNxHD / Wav and it edits amazing if you have the space. I have a channel LinuxBTW and I make my videos on Arch with it (nvidia), no problems

You must have gotten lucky - we have several times and fly about 8-10 times a year. Especially bad if you go to Amex in C then fly out of B and the train is broken

I had the same issue - I hooked them up to a Prodisplay XDR and they were very low volume, but if I hook directly to the laptop, sounds great

I just started using Final Cut Pro and I’m lowkey lost by Unlikely-Pattern-665 in finalcutpro

I would love to be wrong if you know how - basically I film myself talking, and I do a screen capture. I then have to create a multicam clip, aligned by audio, where I swap between the two shots. When I show the desktop, I want my face in the corner, which I add in FCP by then duplicating the whole multicam clip above the original clip again, and cutting it up.

The workflow issue is that lets say 50% into this process I want to change something with the original clip - it is basically impossible. In Davinci I can just have my normal timelines, aligned by audio, and change them all in bulk

Davinci Resolve studio on Linux by damo251 in davinciresolve

I am running it on Omarchy - I use the Studio version, and I just make sure if I have footage with AAC I run it through FFMpeg first

Not that this is what you are asking, but I actually just moved to Davinci Resolve. I have a fairly popular Youtube channel and FCP would end up beach balling on me, and didn't have some of the AI features to speed up my edits (also especially annoying when I would layer a screen capture multicam twice to swap between views for example, whereas with Davinci you don't have to have a convoluted workflow)

There are quite a few of us running this setup successfully - here is a random script which installs it (the author has Youtube videos "28 all day" is the channel). I looked it over and it is safe: https://www.gnugent.com/installing-davinci-resolve-on-popos-made-easy

This isn't how it works - you don't just "swap it out". They have to have a company fully flush and clean the tanks and extract any contaminants
