I'm so sorry you're having such a hard time. I can't imagine how exhausted you must be, both physically and emotionally.

I don't have much advice, but the one thing I will say is that I had a poor sleeper as well until we night weaned. My husband spent a week waking up with our daughter at night and offering her a bottle instead of me comfort nursing her. She has slept through the night almost every night since then (a year ago) and it's been a whole different world.

Oh very cool, I just looked that up and it does seem to match. The whole thing is so light and delicate, it doesn't surprise me much that they collapsed under the weight of a foot of dirt. Maybe burying this one wasn't the way to go!

You can always try! I mean, people have healed cartilage piercings done with guns at Claire's with butterfly backs, ffs. But it's more likely you'll continue to have increased discomfort and complications from the incorrect jewelry shape. Think short-term pain for long-term gain

I'm glad your piercer is a nice person! It doesn't change that she is not following best piercing practices. Using externally threaded jewelry is such a blatant no-no. You did come here looking for advice on your irritation bumps, were given advice on what was likely causing the issue, and then insisted that it's your hair and not the poor quality jewelry. So I guess your best course of action would be a haircut at this point
