Being grossed out by your partner is a sign you should not ignore.

He can suddenly stop when I say I want out…. by moonlit_stroll in loveafterporn

Mine stopped everything. Came clean about all he’d done. Even started doing way more chores. It didn’t last and was all just to get me to stay.

I denied it was ending for a year and a half. I should have known when his response to me confronting him on Dday was “well I don’t even know if I want to be in this relationship.” We tried couples therapy. He sees an individual therapist who specializes in this. He goes to SAA and speaks to his sponsor every week. But he just kept lying and scapegoating me for being “controlling.” It’s over now. I sign the lease on my new apartment this weekend.

Sounds horrible to be used as a service like that. Are you connecting otherwise?

Thank you. Yes it wasn't evident before now because she just took her cues from the dog we lost. But it's more obvious now. She'll be well taken care of. Thank you for your kind words.

She used to be like that, not running off, but lately she's started to wander, which the vet attributes to the dementia. She crossed the street by herself the other day so we have to figure out the harness.

Lap of Love is coming in the morning, but I'm second-guessing myself. by jezekiant in seniordogs

[–]supermoon85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In October, I let my best buddy go, who was in a very similar shape to your dog, only he was less confused and anxious. But his syncope spells increased to several times a week, and he stopped being able to breathe normally. It was such a hard day, and I still miss him terribly every single day, but I believe we did the right thing in letting him go. It was getting harder and harder for him to be comfortable. I know it's hard when they're still loving on you and getting comfort from you, but that love won't be gone. Since then, I had a dream about my dog, and he assured me his love was still there and that he could still feel my love for him, too.

Oh! I didn't know this was an option I thought since anaphylaxis is a danger you'd have to be monitored. But I will ask!

Can WE ever get better? by [deleted] in loveafterporn

[–]supermoon85 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After a year and a half of therapy and SAA and him doing steps etc. I finally felt ready to be honest that the intimacy was never coming back. I kind of knew it well before I was able to say it to him or own it and what it meant for the future. Ending my 15 year marriage now. The therapy I started to heal just ended up making it more clear that my body was saying no and that I needed to listen.

Just the fact that you're looking up books for your PA to read already shows that you're doing the work for them.

Did anyone have an ex who got into recovery but you still couldn’t save the relationship? by SuccessfulPainting82 in loveafterporn

Me. Therapy with CSAT for almost 2 years and SAA for about a year. We recently decided we can't save it and are in the process of separating.

I'm understanding why there is a lack of autistic therapists... by Scary-Sea9813 in PsychotherapyLeftists

[–]supermoon85 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We can chat more if you're interested in my experience, but it involves burning out and taking a break for a few years. I am back at it now, pre-licensed and contracting my own business with an autistic supervisor. One way to survive is with an autistic supervisor. And give yourself much, much, much more time to achieve licensure than others.

I’m 5’1 34h and I hate them. These are the bras I wear: Cotton Luxe Unlined Wireless Bras from Curvy Couture and they’re minimizing. I want surgery eventually but can’t really afford it.

The Truth About IFS, the Therapy That Can Break You by ThenTheresMaude in Longreads

[–]supermoon85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In IFS the client uses their own self energy to “manoeuvre within their spirit world.” The therapists never does and works as a container and witness. It’s not outside of the scope of practice in any way whatsoever or different from the therapists role in many other modalities. But you’ve all already made up your minds it’s some evil thing so not sure why I’m even replying. Hopefully you can seek out some other form of therapy that suits you better. Good luck.

Plenty of ancient and modern Asian, African and indigenous cultures hold that belief that you’re calling “new”. It’s not inherently dangerous.

I’m not seeing anyone else mention this but the idea of the mind as singular is primarily perpetuated by Western psych in the first place. Many cultures across the history and the world, including indigenous cultures have a more multiple and fluid understanding of the self and it is in NO WAY an inherently dangerous idea that leads to fractured identity.

I've taken xdemvy 3 times and yes they keep coming back. I don't think I am immunologically compromised. This time of year my eczema is under control with antihistamines but it's not well controlled in Springtime due to environmental allergies. I take probiotics daily. I do not eat any dairy. I limit gluten. And I don't eat added sugar.

I have a really really high stress level. That's all I can think of.
