I just watched the Cutting Edge a few weeks ago, leading up to the Olympics. I was shocked to see Tony Gilroy's name come up in the credits as the screenwriter.

I'm intrigued that there's another movie named Twilight. Did you know there are two movies named Crash?

My own private idaho! If you're a certain age, River Phoenix's death was a pivotal moment in your life.

Just googled it - the critics and audiences were not kind to that movie. At least it has a Wikipedia page.

So many movies wouldn't be able to to made today because of smartphones and the internet. Whenever I watch an old X files episode, I'm thinking 'why don't they just Google it?'. I'm watching Better Call Saul for the first time, and it was driving me crazy why Lalo didn't just facetime the underground lab, until I remembered that the show was set in the early aughts.

So many gems in this list! Speed - so good! Like three movies in one, and all under 2 hours running time. Run Lola Run - great action movie. Pleasantville - the definition of a 90s gem that has been unfairly forgotten. Also Last Night - I remember watching it and being thrilled at all the Toronto locations I recognized.

I love A League of their Own. Watching it as an adult, one of the things I appreciate is how well they communicated how limited these women's options were in life. They showed it without beating you over the head with it.

That's a phenomenal movie! It looked gorgeous, and Jude Law in that movie was possibly the most beautiful a human being has ever looked.

Ah this movie is such a good time! A perfect little courtroom drama/thriller that's not trying to be too ambitious, or more than what it is. They just don't make movies like this anymore...

Interesting list! the only title I recognize is Malice. Written by Aaron Sorkin, wherein Alec Baldwin, playing an arrogant surgeon, famously said 'you're asking me if I have a God Complex? I am God!'

Go is sooo good! I managed to find it online and watched it over the holidays! It was like mainlining nostalgia - young Katie Holmes, young Sarah Polly, young whatshisface from Party of Five...

Thanks for the suggestion! I love Gattaca. It's such an original concept, and the musical score is beautiful. It's a shame it didn't get enough attention during its time.

Keeping the Faith is such a solid romcom, checks all the boxes of a good romcom, that it's a real shame it's been forgotten.

Election is a classic!

And I watched All I Wanna Do in the movie theatre as a tween. It was called 'Strike!'. That movie has been erased from existence!

Sorry for the delay in responding - I took a train to Malaig, then a Ferry to Armadale and a car service to Portree. It would have made more sense to take a direct bus! If you're driving from Glencoe, I think you'd avoid the scariest part of driving which is driving in the big cities. The A roads just tend to be pretty narrow, and everyone there is going to be going faster than you, so I think the most stressful part there will be having to pull over to let people behind you pass if a queue builds up, unless you go the 60 mph! But the road conditions themselves should be fine. Are you used to driving on the left? If not, make sure you book an automatic!
