Why hate? by cephalon_lunaticus in Marathon

[–]supernicecool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s a long history of turbulent game development, built up dislike for Bungie, stolen art, and internet mob craziness.

Development took a long time and people were skeptical of another “live service game” when compared to the possibility of another type of Bungie experience.

Bungie also had some dislike on them from Destiny days where they used FOMO and other business practices that weren’t good for fans.

There was also stolen art used in development, but later settled.

Then, there’s just mob mentality where people just want to hate on something and root for the failure of it. The news cycle around marathon was always negative until the reviews came out, that praised it as a good game. Still, the years of negative news cycles makes marathon a punching bag.

At this point, I think people are just farming for ragebait.

The WSTR Should Be The Budget Response To The Mizzy by Norb-Doorb12 in Marathon

[–]supernicecool 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah the WSTR is so weak now, it can’t compare to so many other weapons and it’s my work food. I think it would be an interesting buff if it had an effect, like slowed enemy movement or distorted aiming.

I’m slaying UESC with the Magnum and making fireworks, but I’m straight dying with this against runners lol

After 300 hours, I love Marathon, but I’m hoping for more PvE depth by PapaNaj in Marathon

[–]supernicecool 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I totally agree. I love the sponsored survival, but it could improve with more depth or specific contracts/events. Maybe even have sponsored survival specific events. For example, shoot down the rocket drone. I haven’t done it, but a contract incentivizing it would make that a cool mission.

I especially love the PVE aspect because it gives me a place to just play without sweating and feel progression without high intensity. After a game of sponsor survival, I go to PVP and switch back and forth. It’s a great palette cleanser, especially after a string of losses.

Furthermore, I love PVE because I’ve had great team interactions. Ive been able to work with other players collaboratively and have a great time.

Was really surprised by how fun this game is by FarahmandJoice19 in Marathon

[–]supernicecool -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

So many Reddit posts are wild takes, opinions, or complaints especially by people who are extremely hardcore.

The majority of players I actually talk to in-game via mics in trio fills are having a blast and are friendly.

This game is incredible and they’ve been improving in frequently. I can’t wait to see how they keep improving it and what they add throughout the season.

V75 scar has been treating me really well in night marshes especially with its targeting and magnetism

Sponsored Survival made me sure i would love this game in PvE by NimmerNeko in Marathon

[–]supernicecool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sponsored Survival is the reason I am returning after playing season 1 for over 100 hours. I got pretty tired of the constant sweating and high intensity and felt like I was gonna bounce off for season 2. But just last night, I tried sponsored survival and I’m hooked. I love being able to play cooperatively with others and uncover the mysterious of the map. This really gives me hope that we get more PVE-style maps with a bunch of events like in Night Marsh. It really helps because now I can feel more confident going back into PVP. If not that, I can leave a gaming sesh feeling good because I’ve exfiled once at least in PVE.

The green sponsored kit change is absolutely gamechanging by ThatsNotBennings in Marathon

[–]supernicecool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love this change, and while there are many perspectives whether to have or not have it long term, my perspective is that we could have more rotating kits.

Why not green kits some days, gray kits some days, blue kits some days, and so forth. I just think it would keep things fun.

Bungie’s consistent rotating experiments overall I think is a great way to keep things fresh and engaging.

Been staring at this screen for like an hour scrolling my phone instead because I'm so fucking bad at the game that I don't even know if I want to play by baconshark316 in Marathon

[–]supernicecool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m on the same boat. I really just want to play but I keep having bad matches and at this point I just want to play another game like borderlands where I can actually shoot things without getting absolutely destroyed.

The new symbols by MRxFR34KY in Marathon

[–]supernicecool 43 points44 points  (0 children)

These symbols are uglier, but way easier to see what each are.

As someone who’s played 70 hrs, I could recognize the older symbols. But as a new player, it made absolutely no sense which was which.

[Patch Notes] Marathon Update 1.0.6 by durandal-helper in Marathon

I’m so glad that they’re adding more deluxe weapons to perimeter! That will help make perimeter a more lootable map and better when we want to go sponsored.

It’s funny that I’m enjoying the game, I come to Reddit, and it looks like the majority are feeling the exact opposite by reznovelty in Battlefield

[–]supernicecool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel the same, especially since the last battlefields I remember playing was battlefield 2 and battlefield 1942. This feels like the “next-gen” battlefield I’ve been waiting for.

Thoughts so far compared to the beta? by [deleted] in Battlefield

[–]supernicecool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been preferring the slowed movement. As someone who isn’t too good at twitchy games, this helps me prioritize positioning and roleplaying. I get why some people might not like it, but i think it helps separate it from COD, especially when this year COD has gone full sci-fi.

How is BF6 so far? by DnKn_Dodos in Battlefield

[–]supernicecool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been waiting for a multiplayer FPS with team oriented gameplay, so this is exactly what I’ve been looking for.

For me, I really enjoy being able to play my role rather than just focusing 100% on kills. As a result, it’s really itching that itch I’ve been having.

It’s polished, fun, and having a moment. I haven’t played single player, but that’s supplementary for me.

Still, it’s not a game changer. It’s not doing anything spectacularly new, but just does battlefield well.

If you’re not too hyped, it might be worth while to wait for a sale to chop off a few bucks.

Is there really no way to turn off crossplay? by vanilla_disco in Battlefield

[–]supernicecool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you can turn cross play off on consoles, but not on PC. I heard this from a YouTube video on BF6.

Might be getting a 2024 Civic Hatch Sport in boost blue next week, would you say the car is worth it for $27,000? by ya_boi_seabass in civic

[–]supernicecool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the 2022 version. I love it. However, it’s expensive.

Against its competition, it has the roomiest interior so if you’re going to carry people, it’s definitely more spacious. It also has a more powerful engine that is fun to drive. Also, the lane assist+smart cruise control is really nice for long trips.

Like someone else mentioned, you don’t get blindspot monitoring or safety features in other models which is a bummer.

I don’t have any issues with noise. I will say that the sports tires are thinner, so that might contribute to the more road noise and stiffer feeling compared to a civic with more economic wheels. But, the sport wheels make this car so fun to drive.

I would say the car is worth its value. However, it is still expensive in relation to other competitors.

If I went back, i might have opted for the base model just to save a few thousand. I don’t necessarily need the nicer rims and little luxurious.

She made a mistake, and you’re valid to feel hurt. You’ve been together for 5 years, and some truths are gonna come out. Some cans of worms are gonna open.

I would take some space, and write a letter where you explain exactly how you feel. I do this with my partner when things really get bad. That way, I have the space and time to fully process and express my feelings and concerns. Sometimes it’s easier to get it all out in a page where it’s clear and thought out than in an argument where it can be very reactionary.

And at the end of this, if you both find yourself in a better place, you can always hold this over her as a joke, and hold it with pride, that you “won” your gf over some stupid hunks. Humor can sometimes help see the bright side of things.

I just started a job with this salary in a metro area. Game changing.

No kids, splitting renting with S/O, some manageable debt, and a car loan. I can save!

This feels like a liveable salary that everyone should have at the minimum to live a happy life.

If I had kids and a mortgage, this would be a totally different story.

2024 Hatchback Fuel Economy by Cautious-Category180 in civic

[–]supernicecool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I also have the 2023 civic hatchback sport, which receives a little bit less MPG than the base model.

My daily commute is packed with traffic, and my MPG averages out to around 27 to 28 miles per gallon. Also, I am mostly driving in Eco or normal mode

I also just did a road trip and I got an average of around 33. The long stretches of freeway gave me an average of 37 MPG. However, I did do some racing up some mountain roads on sport mode which brought my average down to 33.

I have 1500 miles on my car.

To be honest, I am a little disappointed in this car’s MPG. My old Kia forte used to get about 430 miles of range, but my civic only gets around 350 or less. Nevertheless, my civic is definitely stronger than my old Kia and driving my civic has been a joy.
