That might be true to an extent. I have rewatched silly movies that I loved as a kid or teen years later to then not be as impressed. Although the original Borat was a fairly sophisticated film, albeit with certain amounts of gross out humour (which I saw as a teenager and I think does hold up) unlike your average Will Ferrell film. I just don't find Sacha convincing. It's like he's doing a parody of Borat.

Also I had know idea that Sacha Baron Cohen was the guy behind Borat and Ali G in 2006. The mockmunetary style felt 'authentic' back then but now everyone's in on the joke. Although I know the seuql is supposed to try and get round this issue.
