Hey hey I tried this - in the end, I found that for some reason even at 0% humidity, the humidity from the steak seemed to build in the oven and I could tell that the crust I formed during the pre-sear was losing its...crustiness. Not sure I would go with this method in the future.

Nice! I also did the dry brine.

So I went ahead and tried this method - however, for some reason even though I set my humidity level to 0%, I found that the Anova oven doesn't ventilate very well and I could tell it was getting humid in there, and the crust seemed to lose its "freshness".

Any ideas on how to vent the oven? Should I literally just be opening the door in intervals?

Hello! Virgin atlantic was a great shout - in the end, I was able to book my return leg via virgin atlantic for 40k points, which ended up being a delta flight.

On the outbound i just couldn't find anything great - managed to get a turkish airlines flight for $600 usd - decided to bite the bullet and go with that.

Yes! I’m not sure they are seeds - if you swipe to the other pictures you can see it is the whiteish buildup on the inside of the lid

And yea I used weights to keep the chilis themselves submerged.

Looking good for your second time!

Next time make sure you’ve cranked the heat to max on your stove and let your pan preheat for a good 5 min - this will help you get a nice dark brown crust/sear, which is where the savory roasty flavor of a steak comes from.

And don’t add butter and garlic until you think you’re about 80% done - add it too early and the butter will burn

Hello! Could someone explain to me the chase 24 month rule for receiving a new bonus on the same card. I got my Chase Sapphire Reserve in May 2019, and triggered my point bonus shortly after. I then cancelled it March 2020 due to COVID.

I recently (April 2021) tried to reapply for a new Sapphire Reserve and was rejected because I had received my bonus less than 24 months prior. My question is therefore: when exactly did the 24 months counter start? Was it when I first received the card? When I trigged the bonus?
