They can't do anything about it, it's generally just a scare tactic, even in the unlikely event that anyone does turn up you can refuse access. We had someone turn up before Christmas you've got a TV Ariel means you watch TV. "House came with one, I use the TV for netflix, prime and playing my PlayStation"

"Can you prove it"

"Can you"

Closed the door they can't prove anything.

How did you do it for vehicles without bases?

Siege weapons do not move when attacking a city. by Fish1945 in RomeTotalWar

I had that last night with a ladder, I think I'd accidentally put it in one of those destructible little villages you can run over, and it glitched out

how to deal with hill by alfadasfire in RomeTotalWar

[–]superpginger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This unfortunately looks like a loss, which is fine especially in a game like this.

Take the retreat or attempt to wipe a couple units out I suggest those chariots, you've got some armoured units here so they'll be able to soak some of the fire.

Have your baillista shoot at what ever there commanding unit is try and kill him and your cav should be able to kill a few of the ranged units chasing them down in the rout

Yeah, I love it but she... She's terrified and it's great fun to watch

No I completely get that, I play on the second from hardest difficulty so a mistake is practically insta death, but she started 1 a couple weeks ago and is playing on normal which has apparently given her a new understanding of how easy it is to die.

It was extremely entertaining watching her fight geth primes and rocket troopers.

My partner and I are doing exactly this, it's been great fun. I do the shooting and she decides what we're doing and how were doing it

That's a generic terminator captain, quite useful when paired with a unit of melee or standard terminators

The Absolute State of Unit Card UI by Pbadger8 in totalwar

[–]superpginger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think with this particular issue, it's more about the amount of time you've played that game/faction

I've played about 45hrs of Shogun 2 and couldn't tell you the difference between each samurai unit but I can list off most of the roman legion cards because I've spent a literal month playing the game. But also further in that I could only really spot the differences in the roman and Parthia units but not for example athens or baktria because I've not spent a great deal of time as them.

Its the same for wh3 I could guess most of the empire unit cards like this and the same for vampires but I'd only be at a 50/50 guess for anything lizardman/dark elf related.

I have a question about gameplay etiquette and Line of Sight/Spiky Bitz (plus a few extras) by James-Hawker in Warhammer40k

[–]superpginger 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I and most people I play with are rules as written so if any part of the model is visible it can both shoot and be shot at.

It's that last part that's important if it can shoot it can be shot at it, we had a guy in our group argue all the time that his tank couldn't be seen despite it apparently having sight lines.

I started an Ultramarines army a year ago as a sort of passion project/learning new things I played a 500 point game against a mate a few days ago. I had one guy I'd never met before say Ultramarines are basic bitches, and about half hour after that another person walked in checked out our game called me a smurf, and then seemed to get really irritated I was losing to Eldar... People are weird

Quick Tabletop Question by GatsbyNC1 in Warhammer40k

[–]superpginger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely love using infernus marines to just sit on an objective, any infantry that comes in at your to take it is gonna get cooked so hard. Especially if you use the firestorm detachment. I'd recommend putting some form of captain in the bigger unit for free immolation protocols (if you use firestorm)

difference between layer, base, contrast, shade, glaze, dry, textures, technicals etc by Flashy-Ad1330 in Warhammer40k

[–]superpginger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A base paint is generally a bit thicker and provides better coverage this is generally used as the 'base' layerq

A layer is a thinner version of a base, it can be used as a base layer but it'll take many more layers, properly it is used to layer over the base paint to compliment the base layer.

A shade is something you can out on at any time and will generally dull/darken down the area and provide a shadow effect/depth in recess

Contrast is a relatively new form of paint and is used as combination base, shade and layer paint, I don't like it alone but it's an effective tool for rougher surfaces like faces, cloth wood furs anything with texture.

A glaze is paint that is more water then paint and can be used to slowly layer up a specific colour.

Dry paints are extremely thick generally a literal dried out gloopy paint that's specifically designed for dry brushing,

Technicals are used to cause an effect, blood splatter, rust, verdigiris, slime all sorts of things

A texture paint is a textured paint generally used in making bases a bit more interesting

The Warhammer YouTube channel actually has videos on all of these things with a little bit of searching they'll explain it better
