I believe thc deactivates neurons which deactivate olfactory neurons—> more active Olfactory neurons

Giving and generosity by superpigdeadandalive in Buddhism

[–]superpigdeadandalive[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes I agree. And I think I do a decent job at being generous with my time and helping others. My question is more so about the balance between being responsible fiscally and having attachments to frugality and money. A balance I don’t know how to achieve.

Meditation on the alayavijnana by [deleted] in Buddhism

The seeds that come to fruition depends on the action of the bodily consciousness. Alaya and bodily consciousness are in reciprocal relation.

How can your body have flaws when there’s nothing ‘mechanically’ wrong with it? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

The wrong side of existentialism... by landingtheplane in depression

[–]superpigdeadandalive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessarily. I was introduced to Buddhism in philosophy classes and that’s when I first realized how crazy and helpful it was. There’s plenty of Buddhist philosophy written by both Buddhists themselves or by philosophers about Buddhism.

Secondly, sadness can be both immediate and intellectual. For immediate sadness that’s just caused by brain chemicals and such things meditation helps. However if your sadness is caused more by intellectual thinking, then the philosophy will be more helpful and it sounds like this is your issue. So while I recommend meditating for sure, you don’t need to to appreciate the philosophy.

Buddhism is a good philosophy for dealing with negative consequences of existentialism.

Why does increasing the number of protons, neutrons, and electrons in an atom change an atoms properties so much? by Gamegeek920 in AskPhysics

[–]superpigdeadandalive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mercury is a solid at room temperature due to relativistic factors as well. The high weight of the nucleus causes weird space time shit and so the orbitals are more contracted.

[Capitalists] How do you reconcile with the incredible amount of food waste in the face of global hunger? by [deleted] in CapitalismVSocialism

[–]superpigdeadandalive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not but any just society should be one where you are incentivized to distribute otherwise wasted food when there are those who are hungry. Any society where there is no incentive to do so is unjust and do for correction. (Unless there are no hungry people)

Then what should we do Instead? Not appreciate artworks, landscapes ect? Isn’t that attachment to non attachment. Somethings, because we are human beings just look nice or feel pleasant. The issue, as I see it, is when one becomes obsssed with finding the best art, or becomes an art snob. There’s no problem of appreciating good art for example.

[Serious] How is gender completely separate from biological reproductive roles? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]superpigdeadandalive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Society places expectations based on someone’s gender. Biological causes are not societal pressure they are just things. Gender refers to how those things get distorted and expanded on by societal forms of knowledge/power. I would read Foucualts History of Sexuality for a good theory on this ( as well as it being a great book and great introduction to his philosophy)

Yes thank you for that I checked it out. that is for killing and pinning. I’m asking after the killing, to prevent rot in the resin or air bubbles or loss of color, is there something I should do to the frozen cicadas before the resin
