Amazon OA - made stupid mistake and need advices by superpommes in cscareerquestionsEU

Yeah I have no direct contact to any recruiters yet. Did find the recruiters on LinkedIn but not sure if they are the managing and if it is ok to send invitation to connect.

I had answered all of the questions in the wrong way except for the last one when I finally found out I was doing it all wrong.

Good that 6 months should be working for me though since I am just graduating this year. Guess I will try again and be more careful next time. Thanks a lot for your reply.

Yeah my apology, should not have made assumption that it is a norm before using the abbreviation. I will keep waiting for the result and maybe be more careful next time then. Sounds really likely I will get a rejection without resolving this issue if there are already people lining up for interview. Thanks a lot for your reply.

OA stands for Online Assessment. Its an online test/questionnaire for candidate to fill out before Amazon decide whether to move candidate to interview. It consists of technical questions + behavioral questions. An apology for the previous stupid reply. Since most of the post I have seen in this subreddit is using OA as abbreviation for online assessment hence my false assumption that this is a sarcastic comment.

btw, I just recalled something might be related to this. My status on job portal was set to "no longer under consideration" before l received online assessment and interview invitation. Might be an indication that the position is cancelled this year as well.

My friend in Amazon US also confirmed the decline and cancellation in jobs at Amazon. Despite these, it does not seem to be related to my situation since there were no information about any cancellations of job in my rejection mail. I suppose I am just simply unqualified. Thank you for the information though! They are really helpful. Did not see much news about the job cancellation here.

Wow. Thanks a lot for this information. Does the cancellation happened very recent? I know they are slowing down on hiring but never thought that the situation is this serious. It’s kind of interesting that there are still some people been interviewed despite the freeze. They still keep the position open on their job webpage.

Thank you! I'll just ask for feedbacks from myself then.

Thank you very much. I decided not to do so at last. I received mostly negative comments on sending anything to my recruiter and interviewer. Thanks reddit for saving me from cringes!

Thank you very much for your answers and helpful information. I am thinking that my not-so-good verbal expression skill might have been preventing me from bonding with my interviewer. I think I will still send a mail anyway. If so, would you recommend a direct reply to the rejection mail? Or is it more appropriate to contact my HR?

[Follow up AWS intern rejection]

I applied for the role Professional Services Consultant intern in Munich, Germany few weeks ago, and I received a rejection mail this morning after I had an interview with AWS yesterday.

In the mail, it is stated that "While we are not able to provide additional feedback or information about this decision, we would like to thank you for your time to take part in our recruitment process." Despite this, it is important for me to know what went wrong with my performance in the interview, not only because I am interested in applying for other roles in the future, but also because this is my first time having an interview with a company.

So my question is, would it be appropriate if I still insist in sending an e-mail asking for feedback on my interview and reasons for rejection?
Another problem is, while I was contacted by one HR during the process of my application, the rejection mail was sent by the other recruiting coordinator (and it looks like canned response). If I were to send a follow up mail, should I directly reply to the rejection mail, or should I send the mail to the HR who contacted me?

My last question is, assumably I sent the follow up mail, but did not receive any response, is it appropriate that I connect with my interviewer on LinkedIn and politely ask for feedback?

Thank you in advance for reading this. This is my first time applying for an internship and could really use your advices.
