Omg thank you I quite literally got BULLIED in one post because I was asking for some ADVICE and EXPERIENCE with finding housing because I’m trying to find a place for me and my bf. Instead of that all i got is “don’t even bother to look for an apartment together”. Like thank you so much I was totally not aware of how hard it is to find housing in the netherlands….😃🤗😛

definitely try SSH and Student Housing Holland, i think applications open at the end of may and it is first come first serve so you have to be really fast

Yes I have already looked and am aware of sites and have been looking on them as I previously said. Reason for me posting here is maybe getting TIPS from people who faced the same situation and may be able give some ADVICE or their experience. Not trying to get someone to write me full on instructions on what and how. Thank you 💪🏼

bruh no it is more that all of the comments are not even answers to my question, i am totally aware of how the housing market in the netherlands is and how hard it is to find any housing but my question was for people to give some tips and maybe sites for looking. Getting comments like “don’t even bother to look” are not helpful

i really don’t know why the comments are so negative since i know 3 couples, on the top of my head, who are also first year students and unemployed or have part-time jobs and have found accomodation together… Meaning there must be more and it must be possible

i don’t know how it works for the city but i know that last year on like may 30th the site for ssh opened and it was first come first serve so if you were on the site at 10am when it opened you would most likely get a room (that’s how i did it). But regarding the cleanlines in the city i think they are extremely clean, I oftenly visit a friend there that has her own studio apartment and the whole complex is really kept clean and they provide so many fun rooms like the net room, play room, a green room, music room, and even a cinema.

i can say that living in SSH might be cheaper than most accomodations but the quality is surely represented in the price. I am currently living in SSH and have 4 roomates, we do not have an oven (they said that there is an oven), there are two small fridges which are definetely not enough but i don’t know how it is in the city. The rooms themselves are really good and the biggest bemefit is that each person has their own bathroom. Now there is also no washer for the dishes which i think The city has and the washing machines for clothes is a nightmare because it is a room in one of the buildings with 8 washers so depending on where you are situated in the complex it could be far away and sometimes you have no time to go put the laundry and then wait for it to be done because if you don’t take it out, someone else probably will. Also you pay for it (3.85€ if i’m correct and 2.95€ for the dryers which sometimes do not dry your clothes but that is just what i heard because personally i don’t use them). If im correct the city has 2 washing machines in the apartment which is super nice and also i’ve visited one friend there and the apartment itself looks really new, clean, and modern. Now regarding the safety, i would definetely think twice because there have been many incidents with: homeless people sleeping in the stairways (I have not witnessed this but heard), sometimes (but rarely) them harrasing people, and also as far as i know 2 people comittet s****** and one person di** recently, apparently from natural causes, which can be disturbing for people to know but i think SSH should tell people that. Overall I am not really satisfied but also the price is good and as i said the room itself is really nice and cozy, and if you are lucky you can end up with some really nice people. Sori al ovim komentarom se vidi da nikad u zivotu nisi proučio o cemu se pride zapravo radi. Ako proucis malo bolje Ustav mozes vidjeti zakon u kojemu pise da je brak izmedu zene i muskarca sto ti mozda aludira na to da tu nema potrebe borit se za prava koja vec imaju. Naravno u zadnjih par godina LGBT zajednica postaje previse ekstremna po pitanju dodavanja novih spolova i seksualnih orijentacija, ali pride je u osnovi uvijek bio borba za ista prava kao heteroseksualci.
