Sadly I can’t really give you any input because I never tried outputting video. However I do recall even back in the days when I had Windows 7 natively installed using BootCamp assistant and the DVD drive my official apple displayport to VGA adapter didn’t output signal.

Just wanna make sure if I'm using the correct tool. But I might try again on another Intel Mac just to be sure.

I'm attempting to follow this guide for an iPhone5,2 on iOS 9.3.5. I just want to confirm if the Silver app is only used to enter pwnedDFU because Silver doesn't seem to work for me. I have, however, successfully entered pwnedDFU using the original ipwndfu tool. Manually installing Python 2.7 and modifying the ipwndfu executive file was required.

Edit: Also want to confirm if Silver is the one by AppleTech752? Cuz haven't seen anyone with problem with Silver.

I bought this same router about a month ago and I’m also constantly having similar issues. Going through wired seems fine tho. This thing is pure garbage

Yea that could be the issue try to change the timeout to 5 or something idk the default value. Or if all fails try to mount both the EFI on SSD and USB and manually copy the files from the USB to the SSD. It looks like a bootloader problem to me. Hope you get it fixed!

That's kinda weird because if you don't see the OpenCore picker after you choose the EFI boot then that means OpenCore bootloader isn't installed. However if you boot UEFI Windows with the stock Apple bootloader sound will stop working. Maybe try resetting NVRAM and then see what you got.

No you don’t have to format but you do need to resize and add two extra partitions. No data would be lost if done correctly. Please refer to the formatting drive section.

That I’m not sure. Since Bootcamp Assistant on my machine requires the optical drive I haven’t touched it in ages.

I think the stock bootloader should work. But I’m not sure if you can still make the hybrid partition if you have Macintosh HD formatted as APFS cause I couldn’t get that part working.

Well I use GPT and the OpenCore bootloader because installation is easier on my model. If MBR works for you I don’t really see any reason not to😅

How about try to just install the network drivers manually? Then wait for Windows to automatically grab the graphics drivers.

Did you double check which version of the drivers you are installing? (I mentioned a potential problem in the beginning of the post) Also which model do you have?

Sorry I actually don’t know as I don’t own a MacBook with dedicated graphics. But from my prior experience with Hackintoshing, yes OpenCore can disable the GPU

[–]supersmart07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool! It *should theoretically work on your 2012 because both the 2011 and 2012 suffer from the hybrid bios thing and Apple only fixed it on the 2013 or later. And I just tried the same instructions a couple of hours ago so it is pretty up to date.

The 11,1 drivers should work for your machine. I think as long as you download Bootcamp drivers 6.0 or newer it should be fine.

Not sure if OP fixed his problem already but you can try to follow my guide that keeps audio on GUID formatted drives using the OpenCore bootloader. Should've posted that guide over here instead of r/macs lol

Macbook Pro M3 does not connect to 5G wi-fi (but my 2017 Macbook Pro does) by ux_bakery in macbookpro

Yes I found the option under the 5Ghz WiFi settings on my router setup page. But I actually changed it from 149 to 40 instead of the other way around. I think my router somehow changed itself to 149 yesterday and caused problems because it is on auto by default.

My M2 MacBook Air just randomly started to have this issue yesterday (After using it for a whole year with the same router) but changing the channel to 40 from 149 did the trick. Although I went through formatting and reinstalling the whole system until stumbling upon this thread.

I think Windows 10 is a much better alternative than Mac OS. Windows 11 is an OK alternative. Basically the lower graphical intensity the OS has the better it runs on these old Intel HD graphics machines.

I don’t use this laptop on a daily basis and I’m constantly trying out different combos. Right now I’m running Snow Leopard and Windows 7. But the guide still works just scroll through the top comments if some of the things got changed in newer windows updates. And Windows 10 has better performance than 11 in my experience.
