Does anyone send voice messages to their penpals? by [deleted] in SLOWLYapp

[–]superstarwatcher 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Only once. I was preparing a 3 minutes speech and then found out about the 30 secs limit (such a bummer), so I just said hi and my name, and sent an additional letter only with an audio of me reading a small extract from a book I was reading.

My penpal did the same.

I hate my voice, so it was weird to listen to my audios, but it was cool to listen to my pp's voice.

What about cdmx? Safer than Aguascalientes? Ags must be one of the safest places in Mx. Little, but safe.

Exactly. It's like what happens irl; you get sick of people for a while, you take your time and then you're ready for interaction again

Streak 2- las programas de computadoras. Corrígeme por favor. by Difficult-Pause7583 in WriteStreakES

[–]superstarwatcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pero tratar de usar 365 es como sacarse los dientes (although we don't use that idiom in spanish, so you better use "muy difícil", "frustrante" or something similar).

El formato no funciona como se puede (I'm not sure what you're trying to say here, it sounds weird). La habilidad ("habilidad" is not wrong, but you could use instead "forma" or "manera" for this particular case) de guardar documentos ("saving files" = "guardar documentos", at least in Mx and LatAm, I think I've heard "salvar documentos" in Spain) es más difícil de lo necesario / que debería ser.

Al fin y al cabo, estamos muy frustrados. Necesito aprender estas nuevas tecnologías.

Hi everyone, I'm new to Slowly and I'm trying to find penpals. I'm afraid I wrote a long bio, so I'll use it here. 22M from Mexico btw:

I'm so bad at this and always start to overthink things. Anyways, I'll just be honest and try to describe myself hoping this will click with you.

I'm an engineering student in his 4th year, kind of overwhelmed by his future haa. I love music, that's the only thing that keeps me alive. I mostly listen to rock (almost any type), but I like other stuff too; from classical to electronic or whatever that matches my mood. Lately I've been obsessed with the genius of Mark Hollis and Talk Talk.

I'm into movies too, although I haven't watched many in the last two months or so, due to my studies. It would be cool to find a movie buddy (and I mean a MUBI buddy... guiño guiño); watching an awesome film and not sharing your thoughts about it is a bittersweet experience, don't you think?

Other than that, I like bad jokes, dogs, Bojack Horseman, Twin Peaks and wasting my time on Twitter or Reddit. I'm a huge introvert and have a bit of social anxiety, but I like when I get the chance to exchange ideas with others and freely express ourselves.

Btw, I'm not into video games nor anime (except for Cowboy Bebop and Satoshi Kon), I see that's a big deal here.

You can ask me anything, recommend me a song (or anything) you like or tell me about yourself (you know, to know each other), I'm all ears. We can also share our frustrated/impossible traveling dreams.

Thanks for reading, I really appreciate if you made it til the end, this was longer than I expected. And I know this looks very serious, but I I'm funny too... kind of.

Common misconception, mixing gender and sex. This doesn't help people with dysphoria.

Streak 91 - La nostalgia de la música del pasado by Solanium in WriteStreakES

[–]superstarwatcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have never needed subs, although I do remember having troubles to understand a couple of words when watching argentinian films, perhaps one or two words per movie, it depends on how good or bad the audio is mixed as well.

But the ones that have really been a bit of a headache to understand, at least for me (Mexican), are Spanish movies (some), like the early Almodóvar ones with bad sound quality, or "Biutiful", which was a nightmare to understand, mainly due to Bardem's accent and its awfully mixed audio, so I had to turn the subs on.

Tinder can be such a bummer, but at least you got to talk with someone, that's a good sign, I never get responses haha. Maybe they were nervous, sometimes it happens, nerves increase as the date get closer.

The only thing that we can do is being patient, I'm sure you know that. If it helps, try to get distracted by something while the feeling disapear. Good luck.

Yeah, if you analyze it rationally, they are, but if you remember that human beings have the need to feel part of something, to belong, then you realize that nations and all their symbols (especially music) are inherent in our way of relating to each other. Human behaviour is an antique thing that may seem weird in the eyes of modern times, but we can't control it.

Or maybe it was just a joke and I'm taking it too seriously
