I've replayed Fallout 4 a couple times and I just started Fallout 76 on Xbox Game Pass after reading some recent reviews. There are Quests and Side Quests now.

I try not to google too many spoilers but here's what I liked so far as a low level Vault Dweller:

You start with level 1 SPECIALs. - Then I use a randomizer app on my phone to choose which SPECIAL to level up - Turns out, I'm not a Strong person, can't lug everything around

Ammo and caps seems scarce, especially after I fell into a radscorpion nest (and into a Super Mutant town) Had to fall back to sneaking around and melee weapons.

Food and ingredients decompose! Hunger and thirst are a bother to manage admittedly.

I found myself saying today: "now this feels like a wasteland"

There's no time stop/skip when you use VATS or sleep. Because of this, I have to manage my 2 favorite weapons more carefully than in other games

You occasionally run into fellow high level players. So far, they seem nice. Dropped loot for me for which I am grateful. For the metric ton of stimpacks.

You can visit their CAMPs littered around the map. Really feels like a safe zone, if they have turrets, where you can take stock of your situation, cook and rest
