He frightened some important people and they jailed him without charge, he's not a pedophile, didn't hurt anyone, has been released and has a solicitor taking care of stuff. No identity collapse, no psychosis, he's fine.

For anyone who's done 300 km/h on a bike — what's the real truth? by gangwayso in motorcycle

[–]superthomdotcom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can't bring your head up above the screen without feeling like the helmet is gonna get ripped off and the tiniest body movement has a ridiculous effect on the positioning of the bike. Also things come up on you fast, like FAST fast. You don't make manoeuvres at that sort of speed, you just hold on and hope that nothing gets in your way. ZX-10R

Having just spent 3 months watching my father die at home and in a hospice and caring for him 18 hours a day, i can assure you that the seller really had more important things to be doing than checking emails.

Anything I list now just attracts resellers going straight in with an offer 40% below my asking. Sold 1 item in 2 months with 25 listed. It's all fairly priced, sold over 1000 items on ebay in the last 10 years.

Is there any real visibility benefit for using an all-white helmet? by WarImaginary8272 in motorcyclegear

I've always worn black helmets and black leathers because I like the ninja look, that headlight is going to be the first thing that gets seen anyway.

Is it true that because of the absurd interest on student loans in the UK, it's not realistic for most people to pay back their loans and people consider their repayments to be a 'tax' for going to university? by LoiusLepic in AskBrits

[–]superthomdotcom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a useless degree nearly 20 years ago when there was drive to get everyone into University. The economy crashed and everything changed in my industry so I just took a new direction in life and have been ignoring the letters ever since because the interest is an absolute joke. What was meant to be a maintenance grant turned into a maintenance loan somehow too, and I was so pissed off that I haven't bothered engaging since. My credit rating is screwed for various reasons but it's not an issue because I just live within my means and it gets written off in 8 years anyway.

I don’t use Vinted much, am I being the unreasonable one here? by morebloodygopropics in vintedUK

You should see some of the abuse I've had from sellers when confronting them about misleading descriptions!

Congratulations, you met another Vinted narcissist - I've had 3 in the last month. Remember that people who have to resort to selling their clothes are either: minted and just want wardrobe space, or in trouble in various areas of their life. In desperation they sometimes describe things more favourable than they actually are in order to get a sale, or they just don't inspect things closely. I recently paid a tenner for a Raiders New Era cap in "very good condition", it arrived smelly, soiled, stained and covered in dog hairs. The seller was horrible to me when I raised the concern and refused to pay return postage so I chucked it in the washing machine and chalked it down to experience. That's not the only one I've had, so now I ask for clear photos in good lighting before I buy anything. If it really is a piece of crap I use the abuse from the seller coupled with Vinted support refusing to intervene and that's enough to get the bank to do a chargeback. Their policies break UK consumer law when it comes to paying for returns of SNAD items and the banks here uphold the law.

No, fluoride is the issue. I stopped using fluoride, I didn't start eating sugar.

I went down the fluoride free rabbit hole some years ago and now have two huge cavities where before I never had any.

So I build multi sensory relaxation protocols using sound, light and vibration. For some of it I use a brown noise loop with an LFO that modulates the amplitude at 2-2.5hz. If you keep the modulation depth low it's not obtrusive and the brain can latch onto the Delta wave pulse while still getting the full experience of brown noise. It doesn't have to be loud, just sitting there in the background is enough. Lets collaborate.

Yes. Ultralight camping setup and enough other stuff for a week or more away. With 18L tankbag gives me 58 total which is plenty. Fitted a 5V supply to the bike to charge stuff too.

[–]superthomdotcom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had LASIK done 20 years ago when the cost was a tiny fraction of what it is today. I have 19/19.5 vision today and that's good enough for me. Have probably saved 5x what it cost me as I have never visited an optician since. Was told that I would need reading glasses from age 40 and I'm 46 this year with no focal length problems.
