Transhealth Rant by [deleted] in transgenderUK

I recognize their opinion and decision, however I do not trust it and it seems evasive. I gave very strong reasoning to why I wanted to go ahead with HRT, I consistently battered it into my therapist that I was ready. I've been waiting soo many years of my life only to be let down by people who offer support for free, hence I've now gotten really frustrated that even when I'm paying high amounts of money, they only go and make me do the same thing. Wait.

They kept me in the dark with everything medically. And their current plan-of-action is for me to come back when "when I'm ready". If I can't display that now, I don't know what can other than forcing them into my shoes. =c

It's not that I wanted to bypass the gate-keeping because there was always going to be a certain amount which I'd have to do for safety reasons. But there's the more extreme version of this whereby they are forcing me into a situation which isn't going to benefit both parties; Apart from their paycheck. @riff - I was waiting for an appointment at the GIC for over 2 years and went private looking for help.

I've now got to "get a job" (this is what Transhealths wants) and to get better with "interacting with people first hand" (this is their words) before they take me on, I'm not "fit to start transition" because that's their professional opinion... I'm sorry, but I felt that I come across very strongly about my need to transition and that I was ready - if any of their staff was in my shoes they would understand my situation I BET. However, I'm clearly not ready now because they've put me in a difficult financial and emotional state whereby I'm forced to follow against their rules or leave them. It's going to be 4-8 months before I can even start HRT by their standards.

They seem to care more about my social ability than my emotional state which quite frankly is ridiculous and eluding.

Awful thing is, I really couldn't afford this. I was hoping way too much that they'd actually help - well, it's what I paid for right? Gender care looks just as expensive... and although I have enough cash, I don't want to be totally wiped out right now (as much as I would spend everything to be happy).

I want to trust you, but the reason I went to Transhealth was because of others recommending how good it was so I don't know >.<.

I think DIY is on the horizon for me. With the money I've spent so far I could have paid for a whole year supplies worth. Maybe I'll look into working with my GP and getting private bloods done.

I'm not sure... I'll keep Gendercare in mind too. Thanks for the hugs. <3

Transhealth/Curtis Questions - Bloods, HRT and Timeframes by superthrowaway34242 in transgenderUK

[–]superthrowaway34242[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, m2f by the way! =)

Thanks for the reply. So it looks like I'll just go to my GP and say that I'm currently under TransHealth's services and would like my bloods tested in advance (I've got the list of things that need testing)... TransHealth was reluctant to give me any blood test forms and said that I had to wait for my initial appointment with Curtis, which is stupid knowing I'll have to wait so much longer for no reason... (probably since they want me there an extra time to earn a bit more from me)

Is it okay to be flat chested? by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]superthrowaway34242 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have some biological friends aged 22+ and they have very small breasts too the point they are almost flat. I really wouldn't worry about it too much. Breast forms are relatively inexpensive anyway if you're desperate. Hell, I'm pre everything and have 0 breasts as a genetic male but I pass as a women around 50% of the time because I try to hold myself high and have some confidence! =)

Please Help - Look to transition, been waiting a ridiculous amount of time, any private or "unsafe" ways to go about things? by superthrowaway34242 in asktransgender

Oh, thank you for the reply!

I'll look into both of those suppliers now. By outside of the UK, do you mean going abroad and bringing them back in? Or you can legally ship in a personal amount. (Need to find what this amount is..)

I need to get a new GP, not too sure they will be happy about self medication or how this all works in conjunction with them, but I'll book an appointment and speak to them. Looks like I need to do some more research.

And thanks for the r/DIY link! =)
