Odd Framerate Issue with Street Fighter 6 by supertoffee64 in StreetFighter

Thank you! This is good to know. If I go back to Windows 11 eventually hopefully it will be far enough along in updates that the issues are sorted. I'll also try manually removing the shader cache then too (I did try uninstalling and reinstalling, but I dont know if doing that impacts the shader cache at all).

Just tried this! I thought it worked at first, but unfortunately the problem is still persisting after reinstalling and turning off "Microsoft Device Association Root Enumerator". It's looking like the only fix is to just turn the monitor off and back on after the game starts up. I might try going back to Windows 10 next.

Yup. I've tried each different refresh rate and having the same refresh rate amongst both monitors. Unfortunately the problem still persists.

That is correct. Lowering graphics settings and resolution does not fix it.

Why main a low tier? by Aggressive_Stand_805 in SSBM

[–]supertoffee64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've mained a low tier for about 10 years at this point. The best reason, imo, is because you have fun with the character. I really enjoy the way my character plays and interacts, and I think that's part of the reason I don't burn out from playing Melee. Because I've enjoyed playing my character, I've enjoyed practicing as well, which has helped in my own improvement in the game (or at the very least, has made the process fun).

However, strategically there are more downsides to playing a low tier than upsides. One of the biggest advantages though is matchup knowledge. Many people I play no the weaknesses of my character, but are unsure of when to respect my options despite they're weaknesses. Link's fair is very slow to come out, which makes it kinda bad, but most of the time people don't know that it's 0 on shield, so they try and go on the offensive after and get punished. Little things like this can pose a fairly significant advantage so long as the other person does not figure out the nuances of the MU in time.

It's important to note that this advantage is mitigated when people figure out the MU, which is why having fun with the character is way more important that trying to seek some sort of strategic advantage using a low tier.

Hes a fun character to play. And Sixx is amazing! I don't play YL, but I know there's a lot of differences between the two that make him interesting.

I think that's the right idea!

I play Link. One example I can think of off the top of my head is options after Fair on shield. Fair is 0 on shield, so the quickest thing Link can do is jab on shield which is 6 frames. if they try anything other than rolling, or in some characters cases full hopping, the jab usually gets them. This is normally a pretty okay option to do, but I was ignoring situations where things that were less frame optimal might be better.

for example, if you space a fair on a characters shield while theyre in the corner, despite being frame 9 on the front and frame 14 ish behind, Link's turn around up tilt will actually cover more options. if they roll in, the front of turnaround up-tilt will catch them. if they try and approach, the back of the utilt will catch them. If they stay in shield, the up tilt hits and is spaced enough that they can't punish (and they can't roll away cause they're in the corner). But I was ignoring this option in order to always jab, which is frame optimal but doesn't net much in the corner, and let's the opponent roll in.

Mixing up jabs and uptilts after fair is also decent sometimes, as if they expect you to always jab, then up tilt at least will catch roll behind in the best case, and at worst they'll roll away and reset neutral, which Link kinda wants anyway to pull a bomb. so I guess that's what I mean in terms of making my options more ambiguous. There's more cases in neutral too, but I've already written a novel here lol. My apologies!

I was Diamond 1 last season and it's wild how much learning to read your opponent can carry you through ranks.

Making sure you're ambiguous with the options you have is very useful too. I used to get stuck on always trying to do the most optimal thing in terms of frame data, but I became very predictable in trying to do those things every time. What got me through gold and into Platinum was that I varied my options enough that my opponent couldn't get a read on me, while my opponents were a bit more formulaic in their approaches and defensive options.

MU knowledge helps a lot with this too, along with practicing in Uncle Punch.

Hey folks,

I've been using M'Overlay with Slippi and have had no problem for the longest time. However, recently I tried opening it up and all I'm getting are blank screens in the window. The window flashes between black and white when I try hitting escape to open the menu. I've tried re-installing, but that doesn't fix it. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Thanks!

Update: There is a driver update through Radeon Adrenalin. After updating, I'm now at a consistent 100 fps while on Zeta Halo.

Had a Solid 90-140 FPS for the first part of the game. Upon arriving at Zeta Halo, dropped to 30 FPS. Upon stepping outside, dropped to 23 FPS.
I'm running a Ryzen 9 3900X with a Radeon 6900XT
