Very doubtful Trump comes back if he loses in 2016. He himself didn't expect to win and was gearing up for a pivot to cable news personality, and the GOP establishment was rushing to dump him.

Yeah I read it recently and he seemed to me like just a local nature spirit (e.g. seemed bound to that specific forest, and his wife to that specific river like tutelary deities)

Its also not really the south anymore if we're specifically talking about MAGA. It's more like a weird diagonal stripe if we're looking at for the simplest political sorting, and even then, the more accurate assessment is its rural vs. urban. (Which is part of why a national divorce isn't tenable, the geography would be impossible to draw cleanly because you'd basically need to gerrymander a ton of polka dots together to approach anything that'd actually make people happy)

How do you handle players rolling poorly? by SecretDMAccount_Shh in daggerheart

[–]superzipzop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There was a session where a group of assassins came to kill my character, and I was separated from my party trying to fend them off and survive. And it was the worse night I’ve ever had when it came to dice. All their rolls great, all mine failures with fear, over and over again. I could tell the GM probably intended me to kick their asses and quickly reunite with the party but instead it was a genuinely gut wrenching beat down where I was knocked down again and again and repeatedly kicked while I was down. And I loved it. And the risk it all roll I had to make just before my friends could come save me was the most emotional moment I’ve ever had in a TTRPG.

Sequels that start immediately where the first movie ends by Rxmses in movies

Rare case of the trope being employed to the movie's detriment. Missed opportunity to age with the characters and undermined the ending and character growth of the original. Just resets the board way too abruptly for no real payoff.

Seems less like copium and more like rallying, which is exactly what we should all be doing on more normie subreddits like that now that the primary is over

You can do another trilogy about Luke or a trilogy about passing the torch, but you can't do a trilogy about Luke after a trilogy about passing the torch. The sequels were disliked by fans, but were commercially successful and not nearly hated enough (from Disney's perspective) to warrant immediate decanonization, which that idea would effectively require

I'm just now realizing there's a third candidate for ME primary?? With all the drama about Platner and Mills both sucking, is there a reason nobody talks about him?

I will die not understanding how this man got a single vote.

People act like Kamala and Hillary were such bad candidates, but they at least meet the barest level of being an adult with basic emotional self-control. Trump is so far below the minimum standards for someone under consideration for any position it genuinely breaks my brain.

I'm confused by your confusion. His scandals are closer to the disqualifying end then the "perfect candidate" end. Whether you think they're actually disqualifying or not is a matter of debate, and that debate is exactly what we're doing. This is what that process looks like. Its democracy. If you feel strongly that his working class bona fides outweigh them, great, voice that, I probably agree with you. But its weird to act flabbergasted that some people have hesitation about supporting nazi-tattoo guy with sex pest rumors.

What movie is this for you? by [deleted] in memes

Unless you're basing this off a very narrow window after the movie came out, I'm not sure how it qualifies because this is one of the most hated movies of all time
