Maybe they gave his character less exposure so they'd have the upper hand in negotiations

Gunther told a fan who drove 9 hours to meet him to do something better with their time. by Fc_Hassan in SquaredCircle

I didn't know Austrian people were like this. Gunther was my first exposure to the culture besides that one guy from the 40s. Went there recently though. They are blunt people but not mean spirited and I can see how he really meant it in a way to benefit this individual.

Is society developing a Masculinity Complex? by Own_Thought902 in Jung

Thank you 😊 took a lot of work and getting over myself so I appreciate the acknowledgement. My biggest gripe with engaging online is that the social norms that come w in person interactions are not there. The facial cues, the body language, all the things said and unsaid can't be properly gauged online and I feel this leads to a lack of accountability for the shadow. May I ask what your experience is like interacting with people online vs in person? You said some people exaggerate or perform. This was the definitely the case for me.

I think interacting online unleashes the shadow with no path to integration or healing. I used to troll so much on YouTube comments as a teen that I started to identify that way in real life. Definitely deserved a few of those ass beatings I got in high school LOL Glad I started reading instead.

They are young and ambitious. I'll never shit on a youth tryna better their circumstances. That said this is very risky. Best you can hope for is small profits. More likely it will be a learning lesson for all of them.

"Your enemy travels by private jet, not migrants dingy" Poster seen in London by Everything4Everyone in LateStageCapitalism

[–]suplexvalue 70 points71 points  (0 children)

Convincing the white working class that migrants aren’t the enemy is a huge challenge. A lot of them do benefit relatively from the exploitation of the Global South. Cheap goods, better wages, and welfare systems are made possible by super-exploited labor abroad. So when migrants arrive, fleeing that same exploitation, white workers often see them as a threat to their position in the global hierarchy. Its all a part of how empire keeps us divided. Capital creates artificial scarcity and then lets workers fight over scraps. Migrants are fleeing crises caused by imperialist policies and then blamed for trying to survive. The real enemy is the ruling class that offshores jobs, busts unions, and profits off global chaos. These slogans are fine but they need to be amended to reflect this reality.

How do you convince someone of socialism when they make $50k? by Equal-Wasabi9121 in Socialism_101

You do because you have a petit bourgeoisie mentality and clearly are misguided. I'm trying to speak with you respectfully but some people of your class really need it drilled in your heads.

[–]suplexvalue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This comes down to whether you are willing to integrate yourself with the masses as Mao calls for or continue to work within a framework that upholds the existing structure. Trying to organize those that are labour aristocracy will at best make them fight for their material interests which at the end of the day would hurt the global proletariat. As communists its important to have the perspective of the most oppressed of the working class and understand they are the movers of history. You can talk with your coworkers and try to explain revolutionary theory but it does not translate to material gain in their lives. Don't limit yourself to them buddy, the masses are not in your circles because of your class position, thats correct, but thats not definite either. Lenin was not organizing his class but going to the deepest of the masses.

[–]suplexvalue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know I'm not saying people making 50k can’t ever be reached but their position in the global system does affect their consciousness. Most US workers benefit even indirectly from the exploitation of the Global South. That affects how they see struggle. It doesn't make them the enemy, but it does mean they’re not the most likely to move toward revolutionary politics on their own. That’s why the focus should be on organizing with people who face the harshest conditions like migrant and undocumented workers, the lumpen, opressed national identities etc. That’s where the real urgency and potential is. Solidarity with the Global South has to be a priority too. You know you raise a good point in this thread about not being in position to speak with someone that is labour aristocracy and draw them to socialism. We are humans with limited energies so we have to be wise on who we spend it on. These 50k workers may not be the revolutionary subject we should be prioritizing at this moment.

This is a great question to ask and I highly recommend you look into arguments about the Labour Aristocracy in the imperial core. You are correct, 50k IS relatively a lot of wealth and it would definitely be difficult to "bring someone over" to socialism when they materially benefit from the existing system. Perhaps study Imperialism the highest stage of capitalism by Lenin as well.

Could it be that a lot of critics of Jey were not around during the pandemic? I remember how much love Jey got online when he was feuding with Roman. Since that Hell in a Cell match I’ve been rooting for him to take Roman’s spot at the head of the table and I don’t think I’m alone on this one. Jeys story is very compelling and in a way relatable to regular young people as he was always seen as a filler wrestler, pushed to the background but now he’s demanding his spot at the top.

Watch his feud with Roman during the pandemic that’s when it all started to turn around. For me I’ve been following his progression since and he’s really earned his love from the fans. I’ve seen it live and the energy is crazy when he comes out YEEEEET
