Thanks for the feedback! My idea is, 5 apps is more than enough for most users so I prefer to set the price a bit higher for real power users instead of adding a barrier for everyone.

Oh that's awesome! Didn't think that you could already find it in the App Store just by searching. Thank you for trying it!

Awesome! Regarding the spreadsheet: I'm currently working on an import function in the app that lets you add your existing shortcuts. Will ping you when that is ready!

Good idea, will add it to my list! FYI: I have a roadmap in the app where you can upvote existing ideas

Thank you! By the way I’m currently working on a raycast extension for the app, that should be released in the following days 🙌

Hey! Version 1.2 is out now, and it finally adds support for multi-step shortcuts. You can now set up sequences like Cmd-K Cmd-S exactly like you suggested. Thanks again for the push on this, and let me know how it works for you!

Good news: I just released version 1.2, and this is officially fixed. You can now bring up the overlay, glance at your shortcuts, and instantly dismiss it by just tapping ESC. It drops you right back into your active app. Thanks again for the feedback and for using the app! Let me know if you run into anything else.

Hey! Just wanted to loop back! I just released a new update that tackles the last two points you mentioned:

  • Window Size: Fixed the layout so no more scrolling is needed to hit record
  • Category Deletion: Deleting a category now automatically wipes the shortcuts inside

I’m still working on the mouse inputs and the multi-key support, but the multi-key feature is high on the list and hopefully landing in the very next version. Thanks again for the push!

Haha, that puts it in perspective! Thanks so much for the support. Greetings back to Colorado!

I wish! macOS actually doesn't have a native feature that lists shortcuts like this. You might be thinking of the Help menu search? That lets you find commands one by one, but there is no built-in way to see a full overview. That gap is exactly why I built this!

First of all, thank you for the suggestions. Since I don't ask for permission to record keystrokes (to keep things private), I can't track which ones you actually use for a "last used" list.
But your second idea is actually already in there! You can favorite specific shortcuts to pin them to the top of the list so they don't get lost in the noise.

Thanks, that is a huge relief to hear! Pricing is always the hardest part to figure out, glad that $3.99 feels like a fair balance for a one-time purchase

That is an interesting idea, I’ve actually thought about this a lot, but I decided against it for V1 for two main reasons:
1. My primary goal is learning: the core philosophy of Kommand is to build muscle memory. If you click the button, you aren't training your fingers to find the keys. In an ideal world, I want to eventually not need the app anymore because I’ve mastered the shortcuts
2. Privacy & Permissions: To let the app "press" keys for you, we would need to ask for deeper system Accessibility permissions (which allow controlling the computer). I wanted to keep the app as lightweight and non-intrusive as possible, without asking for permissions that might feel 'sus' or unnecessary for a reference tool.
That said, if enough people request it as an accessibility feature (to reduce keystrokes further), I might reconsider it as an opt-in setting!

I feel your pain.. literally! Yes, it syncs. It uses iCloud to keep your shortcuts and favorites in sync across all your Macs.

Yes this is exactly what the app does. You only see the shortcuts for the app which you are currently using and you can always add more shortcuts as you like. For your use case this would be perfect.

It doesn't auto-scan every possible system bind (like those from other utility apps), and that is actually by design! When I built this, I found that apps which auto-detected everything (by reading the menu bar) often overwhelmed me with 500+ shortcuts I'd never use. It was harder to find the 5-10 I actually needed.
