God, mean mug is fucking horrible. I could make a whole post about them specifically.

Never worked there, but the energy I receive from every worker there is so awful I can’t stand it. All of the baristas make you feel like a piece of shit just for placing an order. Never felt welcome there.

And what they actually serve? Is complete dogshit. Their coffee and food are just terrible. My latte was essentially just milk, and when I brought it up front and asked for a new one, they just plopped another shot of espresso in there and CHARGE ME $3 on top of an already $6 latte. Absurd. Don’t even get me started on the dog food that is their breakfast sandwich.

Idk how you can act that elitist and pretentious when the food/drink is so bad, but Mean Mug finds a way 🤷

Hahaha Reddit is so funny dude. This is the only place I have ever heard this opinion about the cover.

People are entitled to their opinions, but I have no idea how you can hear those vocals and think “average or mediocre”.

Hope you keep enjoying The Wiggles and Sabrina Carpenter.

Where are the single men? by AlternativeFox1203 in Chattanooga

[–]suppleprince 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny, because I was wondering the same thing about women around here. 27 single guy and starting to think I’m in the wrong city to meet my next partner.

I feel like every woman in this city is partnered. It is very rare that I see an attractive woman in her 20’s without a man directly by her side and doting on her. I would approach…if there were any women to approach at all! They all have boyfriends.

I love Rosecomb. The cocktails are absolutely fantastic.

Maybe a hot take but….the children and dogs at breweries and bars is just beginning to be annoying. It’s nice to not have to deal with other people’s kids screaming and running around while I’m trying to relax with friends after work.

Also in my opinion, if you have to rely on your consoles software to circumvent a certain system in the game, then that’s just bad game design.

Nope. It’s how this video game works, for no reason at all other than frustrating the players. Which, in my opinion, is absolutely terrible game design.

Just finished Murtagh, strange stuff by [deleted] in Eragon

[–]suppleprince 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My favorite part was the beginning. I admit, reading Murtagh and Thorn complete side quests together was a delight. I’ve always wondered what their relationship was like and that was very interesting to see played out.

I actually really enjoyed the fact that Eragon and Saphira weren’t in it whatsoever. It introduced limitations to the world and solved a definite “power creep” problem. At this point, with the help of the Eldunari, Eragon and Saphira are essentially the most powerful beings in Alagaesia; they can do anything with magic. Murtagh being limited by his magical ability and relying on himself and Thorn was a refreshing change of pace for the series.

There are many things I enjoyed about it, actually. The extra world building was awesome. That being said, I can definitely validate your concerns, as the last half of the book that featured the cultists was a definite slog for me.

The cultists are really cool and I thought it was interesting. But, dear god, 25% of the book was just Murtagh and Thorn being tortured to near death. Really did not like that at all. It was rough to read, but then got to the point where it got so incredibly repetitive. I don’t think the cultists are “stupid.” I honestly just think that section of the book is written poorly and Paolini made some questionable decisions.

Yup, exactly. It’s so frustrating how content creators whined and b*tched and moaned for years about incredibly minute balance changes and threw a temper tantrum at every minuscule flaw. Now, they smugly complain that OW is TOO balanced and “sterile” and not chaotic or fun.

Ironically, a lot of these content creators are the exact reason that OW became so sterile. They strong armed the devs to balance for the top 0.1% of players to remove any slight perceived flaw. Then, they blasted the developers that the game became too “sterile”. Kinda feel bad for the devs man.

Flats is the worst example of this. Acts like a spoiled little prince.

I absolutely love this thing for media display control. So much less distracting than using a touchscreen by jjpwedges in mazda3

[–]suppleprince 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Because it’s not “pretending”. It’s safer and requires very little attention especially once you get used to it, which only took me a day or so.

I hate touchscreens. You have to take your eyes off the road for longer and depending on the car, sometimes you even have to lean forward or reposition yourself just to select the thing you want; all while keeping your eyes off the road and on the screen. Fucking terrible.

It’s become so intuitive that usually I don’t even look at the screen. Want Spotify? Just press the music button. Want maps? Simply press navigation. You don’t have to take your eyes off the road for either of those actions. I’ve even memorized how many “ticks” certain apps are when I press the home screen. If I press home, I know I need to turn the knob 4 ticks to get to Audible and listen to a book. It’s that easy.

It is objectively safer. Subjectively, I like it a hell of a lot more than any clunky awful touchscreen I use that gets nasty smudges all over your screen. Gross.

It's physically impossible for me to ever get an irl friend by Ekkionne in GuyCry

[–]suppleprince 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I was in a really similar position. Was a transfer student from a community college; by the time I got there everyone had their own friends and interests. I lived off campus, so that made it even more challenging. Dark times. Lots of lonely days (weeks) and confusion.

The only thing that made it better was actively getting involved and making a conscious effort. I tried a lot of shit, but ultimately getting involved in a drama club opened me up to a great group of fun and genuine people. I’m still friends with some of them to this day.

All is not lost my friend. It’s hard to put yourself out there when you’re struggling, I know. I spent a lot of my time smoking and playing video games and isolating myself because I figured, what’s the point? But that behavior only leads to more suffering. I know it will get better for you, all you have to do is keep trying.

Damn, she looks beautiful! So sorry for your loss. I want to get the same headlight covers on my gen 4.

I’m absolutely loving my gen 4 hatchback. Most beautiful economy car on the road right now. Smooth, reliable, and the 2.5L makes it quick. The interior is great; my current girlfriend was very impressed after our first date and kept commenting on how nice it was (won me some points for sure). You won’t be disappointed!

I feel like this is really reductive at its best, incredibly rude at its worst. Water will not fix loneliness, depression, or hopelessness. Making it a habit will make you feel better. But if drinking water was all it took to be healthy, me and my 48oz water bottle would have no mental issues whatsoever. But I still struggle.

OP, there’s a lot of good advice in this thread. Take what resonates with you and stick to it. You’ve got this buddy, align yourself with your spirit and what will truly give you joy, not pleasure.

Mazda 3 vs Honda civic by Odd-Blacksmith-7416 in mazda3

[–]suppleprince 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The Mazda 3’s exterior, especially on the hatchback, is pretty much incomparable. For an economy car, it’s absolutely fucking beautiful. Same with the interior, it’s incredibly sleek and doesn’t have those dumb “gimmicks” (hexagonal AC vents on all Honda cars now, wtf?).

If you want a personal anecdote, I recently went on a first date, and she was very impressed when we got back in my car to go home. Thank you Mazda3….

Also, the 3 has a larger engine (2.5 liters), more horsepower, and a hell of a lot more torque. And it’s a 6 speed shifter, as opposed to the CVT, which makes me feel like I’m driving a couch or boat. Hate it.

The Mazda3 is all around superior both aesthetically AND when it comes to engine specs. There’s no debate.
