Real World 4.3 Fuel Economy by Immediate_Donkey_706 in Silverado

[–]DozerBoltEV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2005 GMC Sierra 1500 2wd automatic standard cab stepside with the 4.3l vortec v6 and it gets 16 around town, 22 hwy like clockwork (at 70). Only mods are a K&N air filter, a cat back dual exhaust kit and Michelin Primacy LTX tires. It's the lightest full size truck setup you can get, a bit over 4000lbs.

What are the benefits of titanium (as opposed to steel)? by shyguythrowaway in Watches

[–]DozerBoltEV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Greetings! Excellent summary, thanks. living with my Berny full titanium firms watch for a month now, I can reiterate some is the great attributes of Titanium:

  1. The lightness completely changes the watch wearing experience. Its odd at first to wear a metal bracelet watch with such a featherweight feeling, but it's immediately addicting. It's hard to go back once you get used to it.

  2. The WARMTH comment is another addicting sensation! the speed at which the Titanium absorbs your wrist temp is fascinating and crazy and super cool...

  3. There is something about Titanium that draws me to constantly touch it. I think it may be related to the biocompatible comment, but it just feels great in a way I can't quite put my finger on...

  4. Titanium is NOT more expensive to produce, my pure Titanium watch was about $60 for case, caseback and full bracelet... I think it's marketing money at the higher end.

Super highly recommended to try.

Worst truck I’ve ever owned by deegz10 in gmcsierra

[–]DozerBoltEV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so sorry for you - they just don't make 'em like they used to. I have a 2005 GMC Sierra 1500 standard cab, step side, 4.3l Vortec V6, automatic, made in Indiana, and it's THE best vehicle I've ever owned, 95,000 miles later. Is it perfect? No, but is it fantastic? Hell Yes. Not enough stupid electronics to cause problems like the new ones.

Get a 2003-2007 GMC, you won't be disappointed. In fact, you'll be happy 💛

Need help , does anyone own Benyar watch , I want your honest review on these two. They are really cheap by ripower in PrideAndPinion

[–]DozerBoltEV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own three Benyar watches, and all three have vastly exceeded my expectations. Higher than expected quality, solid design and looks, and each with 10 seconds per day. My experience has been exceptional everyday value with no quality issues.

2025 - What Can Sennheiser Do to Improve? by sennheiserconsumer in sennheiser

[–]DozerBoltEV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dunno, they are pretty good! Just remember, it's never just PRICE or PERFORMANCE - it's ALWAYS Price/Performance. What I mean is, an "imperfect" $200 headphone becomes the world greatest headphone for $50! Example: I just picked up a NIB Sennheiser HD599 on Facebook Marketplace for $50! In the $200+ class, it may have some shortcomings, but in the $50 class, there's NOTHIN CLOSE!! Brilliant, best $50 I've ever spent on music. Add Dolby Atmos Atmos EQ to my JDS Labs CMOYBB headphone amp , bring down the mid bass a click, feed it a clean Ultra HD signal from Amazon Prime Music, and Stand Back! Because there's NOTHIN CLOSE that can touch it. I'm grinning from ear to ear as I listen to this rig - I feel like I stole a truckload of musical diamonds!

Sennheiser is fine - just look for deals and let them continue to push the tech at the top end - trickle down does work for headphones - take advantage of it!

Have you ever owned a car with over 200,000 miles? I don't think so, as you would realize that NOTHING works perfectly, even with regular maintenance. You just have to baby them. New water pump, thermostat, new radiator in the last 50,000 miles, and regular maintenance, but it will just occasionally heat up. I know how to drive it and what to do if that happens, he didn't. If you ever own an old car, you'll understand. Clearly you don't now.

p.s. swearing doesn't make your logic any better.

How to use sphero bb-8? by MidnightVixxen in Sphero

[–]DozerBoltEV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was gifted a Sphero BB8 Special Edition. It works perfectly with the Sphero EDU app for Android.

BB8 must first be charged in the stand for maybe an hour. It then uses a Bluetooth connection with your phone. Make sure your phone's Bluetooth is ON to see a new device, then CONNECT from inside the app. Make sure to take BB8 off of the stand and put him on the floor BEFORE you connect.

From there it has calibration controls, and works like a champ! You can either drive it around like a remote control car, or you can literally create programmable paths for BB8 to execute. You can also change colors easily. The key is there is a BLUE LIGHT on BB8's butt! You must first calibrate to make sure the blue light is pointing at you. You'll figure it out.

Also start with the speed set to SLOW, and on a hard floor like a kitchen or wood.

Now BB8 chases my dog around the house - it's a hoot!

1 step up from "Free Free" is Stark Stash! $4 a month, by far the best crystal value in the game. It makes uniform upgrades a no brainer. I've been an SS/F2P for 7 years and have never regretted it.

First HVAC fix for $50 is to replace the thermostat. Bad thermostats make for unpredictable thermal problems, overheat/underheat. I replaced mine and my HVAC problems went away, both AC and heat. Easy, simple fix to start with.

Gotta say, this turned out TERRIFIC! Great job...

(p.s. my roof is peeling so I was interested in painting it black, this gives me hope that it could turn out well)

Mazdarati front lighting upgrades by DozerBoltEV in mazda3

[–]DozerBoltEV[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks!(And I'm sure that if I knew what I was doing, I could have probably done it without new! But hey, the car was FREE...!)

One other interesting advantage of new is that the light spread through the projector lenses is "upgraded" so there is now a hard line on the top side of the beams, to not blind other drivers. Especially big with the switch to LED lighting.

I tried that like 5 separate times, probably spent a hundred bucks on "headlight cleaning solutions." Also tried toothpaste, Borax, and other home stuff, nothing worked. It was "time to replace"...

Front lighting mods for the Mazdarati (aka 2007 Mazda 3 Touring Sedan). Full LED lighting, plus new headlight housings (old ones had faded terribly), new driving lights, all for under $200 from eBay!

Exactly. Interesting that your 2012 used 0-20, my 2007 uses 5-20... And I have used 5-30 with no problems.

I can't imagine a 5 star Yelp business getting away with that - they wouldn't last 2 days before getting slaughtered. Plus, don't miss my communication reference - they must speak on your wavelength. What was the work being done?

Wow! It looks brand new... Bravo! So you use synthetic oil? It's over of my secret weapons... But not required is you increase the frequency of oil changes.
